More scouting on Castanzo and other links

This is actually a fairly good assessment of Anthony Castonzo. Handling speed rushers will be his biggest challenge at the next level. But even with the little things he needs to improve, there is no reason he won't go in the first round.

The BC women picked up another ACC win by shutting down Virginia's offense.

BC baseball improved to 2-1 with their win over Tennessee Tech.

BC target Graham Shuler received an offer from Wake Forest this weekend.

I love the California aspect of Donahue's recruiting. It works well on a couple of levels. The guys come together and provide each other with a support system. It hits an area that is deep in talent. And unlike football, I think selling BC to a basketball prospect is easy given that the ACC is still considered the best hoops conference and all these guys want to knock off Duke and Carolina.

Gotta give the Big East the title for best hoops conference--has been for a few years now. I do agree, though, that the ACC is still a strong selling point for basketball recruiting

I agree that the Big East has been the best overall conf. these last few years but that's all cyclical. Even including the last few down years the ACC has the last two national champions and 5 of the last 10.

Eddie Odio's recruiting video. This was very very surprising. Kid looks like he is built to play as a frosh and has ACC athleticism.

and then I look at Caudill's clip and cringe.

Caudill may give us something we have not had in a long time; i.e., a "wide-body" with some muscle to enforce and clean up under the boards.

i can see caudill as an enforcer type...but what a liability he will be chugging up and down the floor. obviously his conditioning should improve with a real training staff, but i don't think he solves our problem of a lack of interior offensive presence that we endured in recent years.

Odio reminded me of Dirk Nowitzki...

Caudill reminded me of that guy at the plex who was a waste of size...

Clips from this make Caudill look a little better, but clear he doesn't get off the ground much.

I actually think he has an outside shot, first clip of him shows defender respecting his up fake from 3.

Here's a clip to make you feel better; i.e., Jordan Daniels, a classic point guard, who can dribble well with either hand, shoots the three, penetrates and scores, distributes the ball, looks down the court. He's going to be fun to watch:
