Who is ready to jump on the Travis Levy bandwagon?

Since we have to make the most out of the breadcrumbs that come from summer practices, I tend to put a lot of weight on reports and casual comments. If we are to go with Addazio's unrehearsed comments and Saturday's practice, Travis Levy is going to be a big surprise this year.

Levy is the freshman running back out of Maryland. He earned a decent rating from the recruiting sites, but didn't receive many big Power 5 offers. Levy was under the radar, especially after BC landed super recruit AJ Dillon.

BC needs playmakers. BC's backfield is loaded, so Levy might not get a ton of touches early. But if he makes some big plays, it will be hard to keep him off the field.

I like the idea of Dillon and Levy serving as a thunder and lightning type duo. Give it to Dillon to bust it up the middle, and let Levy use his speed and athleticism to bounce it outside. Hell if Dillon is really 247 pounds, hopefully the kid can block. Having them both in the backfield at the same time could cause the defense a lot of headaches

RBs need an OL and an OC. Not hearing much about improvements in OL or Ov. Hopefully the WVA transfer is the new Patchan. Rest of OL has not shown ACC ability in several seasons. Ditto OC. Will this year be different? Hope so

If the RBs are busting long runs in scrimmages, it's our first indication that the OL has improved. Hopefully the OC will expand the playbook.

Go BC!

Davon Jones really looked good in the Spring scrimmage. It is hard to tell about Levy. The note of caution from "Section D" is right on the mark.

I said it first a few weeks ago in the comments section that Travis Levy will probably be the starter. He runs low and reminds me of Andre Williams. Go back to the spring game, I kept mistaking him for Andre Williams. He's low to the ground, shifty and has very good acceleration.

At least Travis Levy will become the starter at some point this season.

Headaches? One of them straight up the middle doesn't create headaches for anyone except for me watching at home. We have shown very little ability to create mismatches. We are only able to beat teams that we can push around. No imagination offense. What makes anyone think it will be different this year. Run-run-pass-punt.

Not over AJ Dillon. The kid is faster and weighs 247. He's gonna run people over.

Would find it hard to believe that a kid just out of Lawrence Academy is going to start running over ACC defensive fronts. But having two promising freshman backs to support Hilliman is indeed good news. The QB situation is the most interesting. Hope everyone, including this kid Perry, gets a very good look. But as we all know - none of the skill positions mean very much if we do not see major improvements on the OL. The only good thing about summer winding down is that football is around the corner.

How about the Freshman QB from California? He might surprise a few people as well, once he gets into the system.

You are talking about the kid from Mission Viejo. Played in a tough HS conference - so did the kid from St. Ignatius in Ohio. Hope they all get good looks. If this OL is up to task - I'm feeling pretty good about the program. But that's a big "if". With inevitable injury risk - the two deep on the OL has to be pretty solid. Daz should let the position coaches do their thing and focus most of his attention on the OL.
