Isaac Yiadom was added to the Senior Bowl, joining fellow corner Kamrin Moore. As BCI noted, the only other school with two corners at the Senior Bowl will be Alabama. However, Moore and Yiadom had very different paths than their Alabama counterparts.
Yiadom earned three stars from Rivals, but his only other offers were from UConn, Bryant and Holy Cross.
Moore was considered a two star prospect and had no other offers. (In fairness, he did commit early, but no other school throwing offers at him was a sign he wasn't considered a top-level prospect.)
Both players deserve credit for developing beyond anyone's expectations. They've been pretty good from Day 1 and both played very early in their careers. Don Brown also deserves some credit since both were recruited by him out of his familiar stomping grounds (Central Mass and Maryland). But Brown has been gone for two years. Addazio and his current defensive staff deserve credit for their development and success too.
Outliers in the recruiting star system have been used as a crutch around BC by coaches who weren't putting effort into recruiting. We all know that BC has won without stars. But that doesn't happen without effort and a plan. Addazio may be overmatched in some areas of program building but I think he has a good feel for talent identification and development. Obviously you go for obvious stars and people who have an affinity to your message. But you also need pockets where no one else is looking, know those pockets well, and turn those kids into stars. It happened with Yiadom and Moore. Now let's hope it keeps happening this recruiting cycle.

Yes Daz & staff have done a nice job in finding some “diamonds in the rough” and also recruiting the occasional 4* recruit.
But Daz does not recruit well as a whole. His recruiting is well below TOB levels and ACC levels.
Right now BC is 12th in ACC for this year’s ckass. I was a little surprised there was not a “bump” in recruiting given the late season success. Maybe that will happen next year.
If you can accept the recruiting stars as at least a basis to compare the quality of recruits between programs, BC has the lowest quality recruits in ACC and among lowest in all P5
You cannot. That is point.
Football is an effort, brains and more importantly health sport. Off the top. We have had maybe 4-5 players who came into BC as 4 star players. I can remember two especially. Jordan McMichael from Minnesota and Jim Unis from Gloucester. Neither on did anything at BC footballwise. McMichael sucked and Unis had concussions. Take your 4 stars. I will take Ryan,Keuchly,Milano,Galik,Johnson,Broncos starting safety. . . .
Loeffler , Reid , Brown , Campanile have turned these Dazzle-Not finds into a very
credible ACC football team.
If we want it to continue we must pay them very good salaries to discourage poaching.
If we don't pay we'll quickly regress to the nightmares of the very recent past.
BC likely has the easiest next non conference schedule next year playing UMass, Holy Cross, Purdue and Temple. AJ Dillon should have over 2000 yards rushing next year. Unless injuries ruin the fun next year, 2018 should be BC’s year.
Hi everyone!
I recall Virginia Tech-- a school known for excellent skill players on both sides of the ball-- had heavy interest in Yiadom. He also committed early in the recruiting cycle.
It's always great to find the two-star diamond in the rough. But BC's bread and butter has been winning recruiting battles for three-star players (Ryan, Keuchly, Milano, Gallik, Simmons, etc.) and developing them over four or five years. Four stars (Landry, Dillon, Strachan, Daniels) also are pretty good. Daz's recruiting classes need to have more three-star players and fewer two-stars.
Agreed. Like I have repeatedly said, Daz and his coaches need to point out to potential recruits with 3 and 4 star rankings they have a much better chance starting and staring at BC than football factories like Ohio State, Georgia, michagen, etc. This should be a no-brainer recruiting strategy.
One of the real issues is that the BC fans aren't taken seriously, and there's a good reason for that.
Bleacher Report as of yesterday along with plenty of other draft previews have Landry going as a first rounder, even with limited action senior year. Good for him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2748916-2018-nfl-mock-draft-1st-round-predictions-for-top-prospects-after-week-15
Yeaster is crushing it!
Curranac is crushing it, as well!
It's a real credit to the young men to have earned such an honor - it certainly reflects well on them the coaching staff and BC
Take your meds Yeaster! Your positive tone has me worried!
Yeaster must be in the Christmas spirit.
Maybe someone is playing imposter with Yeaster. Ho Ho Ho.
