Weekend wrap up

Women's Soccer fell to Duke 2-1. It was their first time losing consecutive games this season. They are now 5th in the ACC.

Here is more on BC's newest basketball recruit Calvin Felder.

It is early, but it should be noted that Men's Hockey lost to Quinnipiac. That left them at 0-3. The worst start to a season since before WWII and clearly the slowest start of the season since York took over.

What the hell happened to our once proud, vaunted hockey team? ( I could give a crap about this basketball team.)

Rumor has it that Daz used the bye week to try his hand at coaching the hockey team.

Lol. That explains everything.

Jerry hasn't been the same since Coach Cav left and he had his health concerns. Let's all hope the team turns around and maybe he sees the writing on the wall... Nobody wants it to become an awkward situation. I hate BU, but at least Parker knew when it was time to hang it up...

The hockey team seems to be regressing the last 3-5 years with no tangible signs of improvement. Maybe it is time for Coach to retire.

It's no disgrace to lose to Wisconsin and Quinnipiac early, and kudos to BC for scheduling two tough opponents out of the box. Not like football.

Quinnipiac has built a solid program in recent years with a lot of international players sprinkled in with U.S. players - and some of them are probably 23 and 24 year olds.

Having said that, Jerry needs to get these guys clicking, and I'd like to see him have a strong year so that he can retire on top.

Speaking of foreign players, have you looked at the ledger for the soccer team? England, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Venezuela, and Croatia all have at least one spot on the roster. So, why can't basketball do the same?

Basketball ,football and baseball are the sports of the USA.
They are the major draws .

Christian prefers going the Kentucky route.

The schtick with Kavanaugh, hehe, was that he was the bad cop and Jerry was the good cop. Haven't found anyone to enforce in a while.

Lost alot to the NHL over a 2-3 year spell there too. Coack K had a lull for a while. He acclimated. More programs mean more competition for players.

@E.W.: If baseball is so American, then why are close to half of MLB players from the Dominican. American football is an aberration of violence to sate the American craw. The rest of the world is Messi land. As for basketball, there are very few non African-Americans. The NBA has an awful lot of very tall Europeans. If BC can't recruit the good African-American, then they should go the Gonzaga route and recruit a multi ethnic team just like BC soccer does.

@G.E.: Kentucky pulls the very good players to the extent of an entire freshman class going NBA. Christian gets the leftovers. Kentucky has plenty of "incentives" which BC can't offer. For starters, Kentucky basketball has its own dorm and living space with plenty of food and entertainment.

Few major almost , no other major, bb competitor has to practice in an adjacent and dated
facility . . This is a sad situation for a team competing in the ACC
