A&M wants their money

Considering it was one cancelled basketball game, this Texas A&M issue seems like it will linger around BC sports for a little while longer. According to a report out of Texas (and based on a freedom of information request), A&M wants their $100,000 cancellation fee for the BC game. Supposedly their side will decide on a course of action this week.

I don't have any access to BC's contract, but I imagine that there is a cancellation fee on our side of the contract too. So if A&M decides to cancel their visit to Conte, BC is potentially inline to collect that money.

In the end I imagine this will be settled between the Athletic Departments. I don't think much or any money will change hands. What's surprising is that A&M is so adamant about this. As I've pointed out many times, College Sports is a small world. Usually both sides would try to settle this behind the scenes and amicably.

Word is BC’s top recruit, Marvin Ham, is flipping to Colorado. Good thing Jarmond extended Daz to protect our “prized” recruiting class!

Good for Texas A and M. BC wasted an opportunity to create a relationship with a tremendous opponent for multiple sports. Just typical. I get it, weather and mechanical, but I do not understand why I never hear about issues like this with other games, ever. Sure I've seen weather cancel games, but not travel with weather being secondary. BC should have just played the game regardless of the timing, as long as the kids were not in a position to get hurt. Just suck it up and play? Any real athlete has gotten off the bus or plane and played pretty immediate in their career. How many times did you jump on an opponent early because they had "bus legs." The negative PR on top of Daz and everything else BC is too painful. I finally notified the department that I will no longer donate to the Flynn Fund. I am bummed that I had to choose that course of action and take money away from the kids, but felt there was no other way to express my dismay with our direction. As they say in the studio. "Did they pass the eye test?" BC Football and Basketball recently (about 10 years) have failed that test.

Haven't we beat this story to death? Wouldn't it be nice if atl dedicated some of his time and energy in helping to get Dazoshit canned?

Just another black eye for the athletics department. Both sides probably are to blame but A&M definitely won the narrative.

Mod, I'm as tired of this story as the Russian and Trump collusion story. Move on.

This is laughable. I will take our lawyers over theirs any day of the week. Even Sunday.

Any word on our injured players? AJ Dillon, Zach Allen, Wyatt Ray?

Will Allen play or opt to get ready for the NFL Combine? Same with Ray?

Addazio should give Baker a clipboard and put Petrula back at center. We can give other Offensive Linemen a chance.

Won't happen because Baker is a favorite.

Our OLine is not good enough for Addazio's STUPID offense, but it's better with Petrula at center.

Go BC.

TAMU - get a life.

Just doodling and thinking about a couple of others -

Will Sweeney play, or concentrate on the draft?

If it doesn't impact his redshirt, I'd like to see some Ryan Betro on the DLine. Also Rayam and Berry when Karafa and Smith need a break. We need some big guys in the middle who can clog it up but also move and pressure the QB on their own. We want to find out who will take Smith's place next year.

To be effective in Addazio's STUPID offense, our linemen need to be Petrula's size or bigger. 6'4" 340 instead of 6'7" 310 or 300. Or in Baker's case, 290 with a knee issue.

We also don't need 240 pounders bulked up to 290. We need guys who are naturally big coming in, and who develop and perfect the meanness needed to open holes against the 8 or 9 in the box. Shelmire is pretty big coming in - let's see how he develops.

How about former starter Elijah Johnson?

Also curious about Finn Dirstein (340) and Vrabel on the OLine - how are they progressing and Kiev Bennermon on the DLine.

Don't play favorites, Addazio - play the guys who are the best at their positions.

And just because a guy starts in Game 1 it doesn't mean he has the job all season just because you like him.

Most fans want you let go, Addazio, not extended - so straighten up and fly right.

That means changing your STUPID game plan and not playing favorites.

Go BC - throw off Addazio's shackles.

Hate to be Scrooge/grinch but Addazio is coming back next year even if Boise State beats us by 30

The news of the week was that the Alabama QB had high ankle sprain surgery two weeks ago and was back practicing 100% yesterday. Why didn't Dillon have high ankle sprain surgery? He would have been good for the last three games, at least.

Mod likes high ankles.

Knuck, that's a rhetorical question. You know the answer. We are dealing with Dazoshit. The worse of the worse.
