In-game comments post: Georgia Tech
I am off to Bobby Dodd to watch the game live. For those of you in front of TVs and/or PCs this post is open to leave your thoughts, vent or celebrate. So far these posts have attracted the Debbie Downers whining about every play. All are welcome but try to balance the negative thoughts with a few positive comments.

No Downer here....GO BC, lets make a statement today boys...
Hoping for a big day from the O-line, above all else, giving Matty Ryan some time in the pocket.
Let go Eagles
GT really moving the ball well on the first drive. Thought that last ball was bobbled.
Ryan looks like he is on tonight. I really think last week he was tight due to playing the old coach. It's early, but I like the flow of this game so far.
So I am not labeled a Debbie Downer (whatever that is), nice way to open up the game with a 95 yard touchdown drive to take the lead.
Pumped about getting the tight ends involved. Good change from gms 1 & 2.
Matt should not get too down. That was an excellent drive. I think they see they can blitz at will so Logan will need to come up with a counter to the pressure. I think quick outs to the tight ends might work against the heavy blitzing.
Our rush defense still looks good. I think they are for real.
That fumble could come back and haunt them though. They can't pass up any more scoring opportunities if they want to beat Ga Tech.
"Ryan may be the best quarterback in this city." Love it
Wow, Ryan already has 233 yards!
3 holds by the BC offense. I think they are facing such a tough defense that they have no choice but to hold at times.
Love the defense so far.
You can't run to the sidelines on 3rd and 1. Callender and Whitworth don't have the food speed for that. Call a TOB play and run it up the middle!
6 penalties for 66 yards....in the first half. Nice!
I really think Logan needs to consider keeping a back in to pick up blitzes. He just needs to buy Ryan about 2 seconds. So far, I have been impressed with the BC coaching staff's halftime adjustments (they smoked TOB last week) so I feel really good having the 7 to 14 point cushion.
Bravesbill: This is a very, very good defense we are playing tonight. They are more talented than our young line. Thus, the BC line is going to hold. I would bet that they could have been called for holding 10 times, so I am not concerned. If you would have told me we would go on the road at halftime and be up 14, I would have been tickled to death. It's adjustment time and this new BC staff is good at making changes in the locker room.
Halftime stats to note: Matt Ryan with 268 yards passing! Most QB's would be happy with that for an entire game. This despite the fact that he is facing a blitzing attack not seen since London in the early 40's. 1 TD, no INT's, 1 fumble lost.
Georgia Tech with a net 7 yards rushing. 7! They have given up 85 total yards. That's as good as it gets folks! And no points! Great job defense!
I'm a little concerned about the penalties (and so is Jags based on his TV interview) but so far it has not cost us too much.
BC has about 50 yards on the ground. Not great, but why run when you can throw for over 260 yards.
What do people think BC will do in the 2nd half? Will they keep a back in to block? Will they run more to beat up the defense?
You really are a Debby Downer, Bravesbill...
Huge first half. If their punter wasnt so good it would be 24-0.
Jags has already achieved something for us BC folks...
Irish luck is with us today. That was a clear first down for the Jackets (although could you call an offensive face mask on the receiver against Silva?). But, I'm sure Matty is happy to get the ball back for the offense.
Now, let's go back to the air attack.
...and how 'bout Notre Dame?
Whitey: I'm no going to blast Notre Dame until AFTER we play them.
c'mon...have to smile a little
shhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Ouch, great drive by Ga Tech. The whole series was set up by an amazing punt that pinned Ryan and Company in deep. Our defense has played great, but it is hard to defend half the field.
The heart is getting nervous now. I think the offense needs another score as there is a lot of time left in this game.
Any word on when Jeff Smith returns? It would be nice to have him to run back kicks.
AJ Brooks should not get touch for the rest of the year. He is awful. Giving everyone heart attacks.
eagleboston, heart getting nervous indeed! Although, as atleagle has pointed out with past games, we can now count on the coaching staff and players keeping their cool despite mistakes. 3 min to go - GO EAGLES!
i told y'all not to worry about GT, they hadn't played crap and ryan was a million times better at qb. easy call on this victory.
Matty Ice: You called it. Still, I think you have to acknowledge that BC beat a good football team today. We may play them again down the road (although I think Va Tech and Miami are the teams to beat in the Coastal division).
Just an impressive game all around. Matty Ice throwing all over the field. The defense pretty much shutting down Ga Tech. And how about BC going on the attack on the late-game field goal drive! I loved it! This is a very good coaching staff we have and they are winning the chess matches.
And here is the great thing: this team is only going to get better. As they get used to the new system, they are going to execute better. Larkin, Raji, Toal, Jeff Smith...all are out and yet we just keep plugging in new players and winning games. 3-0 in the ACC!!!!!
If you told me BC would not get a single turnover or make any amazing special teams play, I would have been sure we would lose. Can't believe we won without an interception or fumble recovery.
