Three up, three down

Great night and a great start to the Jags era. 3-0 in the ACC is a big accomplishment. Obviously a very exciting game and the best effort of the short season. Thanks to all those who attended the BC club party and thanks to those of you who said hello.

As for initial thoughts:
-- Great job overall picking up the blitzes
-- Ryan is the best QB in the country
-- Although the line played well, the penalties were killers
-- Bennett made huge strides with his kickoffs

I'll watch it back Sunday and have my grades and thoughts up late Sunday. Go BC!

I didn't get a chance to watch or even check the scores yesterday. Great job by the team, especially in shutting down the rush by Ga Tech. This is a special team this year. Excellent job by all, including the coaching staff. And thank you to GDF for finding Jags.

What a great game! And all of a sudden, announcers/commentators are thinking that BC is (a) a good team and (b) Matt Ryan is a phenom QB. I so enjoyed the lovefest of ESPN2 announcers for Matty Ice. ABOUT TIME! 3-0!

When you said you thought we matched up well with G Tech, you were certainly right. I can see some of the "should beat" teams giving us some more problems then they did, although they would still be in the "should beat" category.

I love Matt Ryan, Jags, and everything about BC football right now. Get ready for some love from the media this week.

12th and 14th respectively in the two major polls. Great job by the boys in the first few weeks of the season.

Do you think TOB is saying "big deal, I would have been 3-0 too if I stayed."?

I'm sure TOB is saying that from his (likely) palatial new office down in Raleigh. But I bet there's no way the team would've played so well with TOB in charge. Just think back to last year at Florida State. Sure, we won both games, but that FSU game last year was hardly the dominating performance they turned in last night. I was actually shocked we won in Tallahasse. We won because of individual performances (DeJuan, Larry Anam), no the gameplan/coaching. Shocked last night? Hardly.

In the words of Buffalo Sabres announcer Rick Jeannette:

"Now do you believe? This team is good. It's scary good."

i agree with one of the previous posts that TOB is thinking that he would've taken this BC team to 3-0, as well. However, it's important to point out one of the major differences between Jags/Logan and TOB/Bible... aggressiveness. I think that at one point in the 4th quarter, Bob Davies commented how it was time for BC to start killing the clock by running the ball. And what does our offense do? They go to shotgun formation and Matty starts to further dissect GT's defense in the air. Davies said that TOB would NEVER had done that. So true! You've gotta love the approach that is being taken and where this team is going. It's no wonder that Dunbar was even quoted as saying that the difference between this year and last year is that the team is "having fun." Let's keep our fingers crossed that this is what will propel them above the "TOB ceiling" of a 10 win season.

I was shocked how classless Ga Tech fans were by throwing things onto the field. Got a kick out of the ref calling the Tech fans out on national tv. That's a shame they acted that way, considering we just might see them again in Jacksonville.

More on the unruly Ramblin Wreck fans here: http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091607aaa.html

Indeed, Tech had several big plays called back, nullified by penalties or overturned upon further review. Unfortunately, that moved several Tech students in the south and north end zone sections to throw objects on the field. Others chanted profanely, obscenely, not befitting true Tech fans.

Who did they think they were, Maryland fans? Or the drunken Rutgers louts who taunted Navy -- a service academy! -- with obscenities a week ago? Once public address announcer John Pendergast advised, "Fans, do not throw objects on the field. You will be ejected and subject to prosecution," all that stopped, thankfully.
