Blogpoll ballot Week 1

I didn't get to watch as much football as I normally would this weekend. I thought about moving BC way up, but the game didn't justify it. We played well but not perfectly and Kent State was not some power. We'll know more about the team after this week.

Games I watched
BC vs Kent State 100% (twice)
Alabama-Clemson 25%
Kentucky-Louisville 25%
Tennessee-UCLA 50%
NC State-South Carolina 75%
Wake Forest-Baylor 25%
Virginia Tech-East Carolina 25%
Fresno State-Rutgers 50%

HD still has Clemson ranked #2 in her ACC power rankings. Did someone hit her in the head with Howard's Rock? Does BC need to get uglier uniforms to be ranked higher in these polls?

HD hasn't a clue what she's talking about, seriuosly, its obvious she doesn't watch all the games she writes about.

All of this just shows how foolish and difficult it is to rank teams this early in the season. Wake is obviously the best team in the league right now. Who's next? No one has earned it, yet. We'll know more after next weekend (BC-GT, Miami-Florida, etc).

My feeling regarding the Kent St. game is that we were holding something back. I think Jags and Co. felt they could win with the running game alone and didn't want to flash too much of our playbook before conference play starts this coming weekend with GT coming to town. I expect the offense will be much more balanced this coming weekend.

I didn't want to believe it at first, but it's definitely becoming apparent that HD isn't really that knowledgeable about the league.

I agree about HD. it is very sad, but it is the same old story - nationwide the ACC means FL State, Miami, Va Tech and Clemson. Teams like us and Wake can be interest stories, but overall people only care about those teams. THat is clear from all the season previews of teams like us and Wake, which touch on cliches or well-worn themes, but rarely get into substance. The clearest example of this is everyone going on about Jags winning with TOB's players - while no one ever comments that only one year before TOB left and said that at BC 9 or 10 wins was an unbreakable ceiling only for Jags to surpass that with the very players TOB said couldnt do it....

Anyway, I also agree we were hiding a bit of our playbook, otherwise I feel like Jags would have used such a good D performance to experiment with Crane and the passing game. I think he feels pretty good about it and wanted to maybe fool Ga Tech so that our play action is more effective saturday

Nick P.- I totally agree. Jags definitely held a lot back. Look at how vanilla the play calling was. We might see more of the playbook this Saturday but I am guessing we have that game under control as well and don't really see the whole thing until V-Tech comes to town.

You do know you are dangerously close to the CKA award in the Blogpoll don't you? The CKA curse continued in full force in week 1, taking down Michigan State.
