Addazio gets first verbal of 2014 recruiting class

After the disappointing close to the transitional recruiting class, many (including me) were looking for Addazio to clean up in his 2014 class. It is off to a good start with the first verbal Marcus Outlow. The Connecticut RB has a solid offer list and will probably be a highly rated recruit when the 2014 rankings come out. Now let's add some more talent.

According to his hometown paper, he received offers from Oregon, Alabama, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan, BC, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and others.

Great start to the new class. Hope its the start of something special.

really impressive first commit of 2014. feeling hopeful about the rest of the class if we were able to beat out some real heavyweights and get this kid.

BC beats Maryland by 11, Odio emerges as the 3rd best player on the team, and BC football gets a commit who had offers from Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Clemson, et al.

best day for bc hoops/football since, when, like 2010?

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP

Great win by the hoop team. Awesome to see them finally get rewarded for working hard all the way to the finish. Odio was amazing -- 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks, including two in the last 20 seconds. Loved the aggression on defense and patience on offense. Hanlan was terrific. And, these guys are actually fun to watch!

We have a few really special b'ball players; so nice to see them get a good win. Hanlan and Odio were outstanding.

And how exciting is it to get a verbal from a solid prospect like Outlow, beating out some of the big boys?

All in all, this was the best I've felt about BC sports in a while. Now, let's hope that hockey goes on one of their runs...

Wow those highlights are amazing. I don't watch much film of high school football, and I understand a standout player is essentially a man among boys, but it's still fun to watch him jaunt through the secondary. Even the safeties had no chance to lay a finger on him most of the time.

Let's go after the kid who throws the take out block on Outlaw's kick off return at the 25 second mark. He should have taken out the guy who had an angle still, but you've got to love the attitude!

Was thinking the exact same thing Herz.

Outlow does look like the complete package: can make people miss but gets to the line of scrimmage quickly and with good lean and balance; has great vision and good hands out of the backfield; decent power and speed. Letter day is a long, long way off.
