Yesterday turned out to be historic. Winning today would be equally big and probably get us into the NIT. Let's hope it is another fun game.
Go BC!

I think the U has been smart to double Hanlan. Other guys need to step up.
If we are going to have another run we better get going.
Who would have thought going inside would work against Miami.
Very good defensive adjustments for BC. I like the zone and I like using Odio on Larkin.
What, I am the only one with a Friday off here? Win or lose today, I am loving our team right now.
Welcome Colin. I think everyone else is away from their PCs, but the blog is mobile friendly! Ha. Doesn't matter. I expect a few more people to trickle in if we keep it up.
Lets Go Hanlon! Big Half for The Eagles could really Help our Recruiting Efforts!
Hanlan is getting so much better each game.
Haha, for shame! BC > work anytime! I'm starting to think Coach Donahue only buys ties from the BC Bookstore...
It's outrageous to me that Hanlan is only a freshman. Definitely exhibits maturity in his game well beyond that.
Colin: knowing the bookstore, they probably don't give Donahue a discount.
Odio looked like he was in real pain on the bench.
Have to say I'm very impressed with how BC is playing...coming from someone who was very down on Donohue and the lack of talent on roster.
You think they've turned a corner ATL? Haven't been as excited for BC basketball since sports editor days with The Heights.
Were the refs born yesterday??? Has this officiating crew forgotten that Miami is angling for a second #1 seed for the ACC?
That's more like it. Let Cobra Kai sweep the leg on Odio with no call. Put him in a body bag, yeahh!!!
Johnson should have been called for three other fouls too.
I don't get the Donahue doubters. Look at his track record. I thought he was a tremendous hire because of what he did at Cornell. But you've got to have patience. Give him 2-3 years to change the culture, institute and teach his system, and get his guys running that system.
To me, this is year 2. I don't count year 1 with Reggie. There were too many upper classmen getting minutes. Kind of a wasted year really. This year we're beginning to see the players grasp his system. Ball movement, lots of threes, energy, etc.
Have faith in Donahue. What he did at Cornell doesn't just mean 'something', it means a lot.
Uh-oh, starting to look a little sloppy out there.
I can't say we've turned a corner until we win this game. Next few minutes are key. BC needs to get good points. Miami has regrouped.
On the Raycom feed it shows Anderson did hit the rim to reset the shot clock.
You don't call traveling on Johnson there--that was a legitimate Dukie pivot.
Now you reset the shot clock for BC, and then you call a foul on Miami when Hanlan drives. Refs, what is WRONG with you???
Remember, the team in WHITE is the one gunning for top seed in the Tourney.
That last "foul" sending Hanlan to the line happened in Game 6 of the Lakers-Kings Western Conf final in 2002. Guess what--no foul on the Lakers when the PRO refs were calling the game. Just sayin'.
Heckmann was clearly flopping. You CANNOT call that foul in this situation. The sideline announcer said Miami is "on edge"--you don't send them over by calling fouls on 3-point attempts. Terrible.
OC: even time Brian Kersey handles a game I expect bad calls...it is in his genes.
That was a 50/50 foul or travel that didn't go our way.
That 3 by Larkin was probably the ballgame.
Miami up 4, BC with the ball. You have to call an illegal screen or a charge on BC here.
How do you not call a lane violation on BC when Miami misses the free throw? Then BC comes down and drains a 3, without you calling traveling or something? That's a 4-point swing there due to stupid officiating.
This team showed down the stretch this year that they are on board with what Donahue is teaching. Tough loss but our lack of an interior presense killed us today.
Can't wait to renew the season tix for next season.
This team can be proud and has nothing to be ashamed of.
Great try, BC - love your relentless style.
This team played with real heart these past several games. I'm looking forward to more progress next year.
Added competition of Cuse, ND, & Pitt will only make it more challenging, though 10 ACC wins is a realistic goal.
excited to have some contributing upper class men next year.
tough loss but we hung tough and came back from another slow start. just like a ton of games last year, this game was anybody's ball game with about 5 minutes to play before we were out-executed.
Heckmann had another nice game and looks like he is finally rounding into a complete player. he is a good passer, can take it to the rack, can make the 3 -- if he can work on his consistency he is a good jack of all trades.
hopefully the coaches work on getting Odio to believe in taking on a bigger role - as doris burke repeated ad nauseum, he is more than a role player and hopefully is a big time contributor next year. he should be our 3rd best player.
tough to see clifford hobbling around out there -- get that knee healthy big fella, we desperately need you.
anderson needs to live in the gym from now until November. he is pushed around like a guard in the paint.
really hope we can sell Hanlan's performance in game 1 to another good guard, this team could use another ball handler and creator. also, as everyone said a zillion times, we need another front court player.
finally, doris burke needs to stop using the word "dynamite."
