I liked the Luke Russert tweet and link.
So, where is Charlie Davies these days? He was a shooting star with plenty of speed until his severe car crash. He had unlimited potential. His father was an immigrant from Gambia in West Africa. He appeared to have a solid self image and a good family perspective. Obviously, African athletes usually come from solid family structures. African-American athletes have a "whole lot of baggage", in the words of Jerry Springer, to overcome.
You lose even a half step at that position and it is game over. Charlie just doesn't have the speed anymore.
