Blauds' sources are the voices in his head
ATL-
Love this blog, but humble suggestion: Just stop posting all this nonsense until there is an official announcement from BC. It is clear that no one really knows what is going on here. Why feed the fire?
The imbecile Blauds confesses
"For all of the critics out there, who call me clueless. Well, obviously this time they are right."
I would amend to:
"For all of the critics out there, who call me clueless. Well, obviously this is just more evidence that they are right."
Tim -- is speculation etc the reason blogs exist?
Tim:
I've done my best to not chase after every lead. But I couldn't ignore anyone publicly claiming BC made a hire. Hence the "report" in the headline.
If it is Jim Christian, in the same offseason where VIRGINIA TECH got Buzz Williams, we're going to have to re-evaluate where BC stands in major sports.
At this point, not poaching Buzz Williams looks pretty bad. Success at a Jesuit school in a major bball conference. Would have been a seamless transition. Only thing I could imagine is that we wouldn't offer the same money no matter what the Athletic Department wants fans to believe
It may not have happened yet but it sounds pretty inevitable. And I thought signing Amaker wouldn't make sense. Good Lord.
I am sure they used that huge amount of money the board authorized to lure this guy to BC. It sounds like he was a real hot commodity. Why do we need to pay a search firm to hire a coach, what exactly do we pay an AD to do? And more importantly since when did Eddie Fogler become such a guru, the guy as been gone from college coaching for 15 years. I have come to the realization that BC sports are like the small market teams in baseball. They are content to not spend any of their money and sit back and collect all the revenue sharing, what a complete joke!
colf44, that would make perfect sense as Leahy is pretty much first and foremost a fundraiser. He does his job well, but it's at the expense of our revenue sports.
Anyone else see that an Ohio player decommitted after talking to Christian today. This cannot really be happenning. What an absolute joke
The player that decommitted happened to be a 4 star recruit. If Christian could bring him to BC that might make the hire easier to swallow.
I think I am ready to just accept that Christian is likely the guy after the recruit transferred.
I think the hire makes zero sense.
Now I just want an announcement to end this agony of speculation
The way this thing has gone down it seems the sensible thing for BC to do. Is swallow its pride, admit a mistake and bring back Al. I think you have to reach pretty far to make the case that the people who have actually been interviewed are a better choice.
