I gave my 50 yard line tickets to the father of a player on the two-deep. The seats will definitely be filled by the player's grandparents.

I couldn't make it to Boston for this game, but next week, and others for sure. I'm locked into ESPN with much anticipation.

After all these years, I'm still nervous. :-)

My tickets will always be used. Don't blame me for a low turnout.

Go BC - beat PITT.

Red Sox - Blue Jays at Fenway tonight. Traffic must be brutal.

Nice job, Fenway Sports Group.

Big Jack Krack said...

I haven't seen Mehdi yet. Any problem?

Bravesbill said...

This defense is truly pathetic. Can't tackle. Secondary couldn't cover a freaking tortoise.

mod34b said...

inability to tackle is crazy.

Bravesbill said...

Murphy throws worse than Tebow too.

mod34b said...

inability to hold line scrimmage bad too

mod34b said...

momentum needs to change

mod34b said...

medhi #45 was in

mod34b said...

c'mon Murphy settle down....play ball for the go ahead TD

mod34b said...

did we "make a statement"? YES

mod34b said...

no push by the OL

Bravesbill said...

Oh Jesus. Punting from the 34?! Who does that besides Spaz?

mod34b said...

nuts to punt from 34.... and to f' it up

mod34b said...

wow defense is awful

mod34b said...

hard to watch this shit

Bravesbill said...

This team is a joke. Nice punt call.

Xman said...

Can we fire Don Brown at halftime please?

eagleboston said...

Oh, oh, this game is on life support. BC's offense is not designed to come from behind. Daz said so himself.

ATL_eagle said...

That was a rough first half considering how it should have gone. Pitt isn't that much better than we are. Our tackling has been terrible and obviously we have to do a better job in the passing game.

eagleboston said...

I'm not freaking out though. I said in January that this is a step-back year. All of Jag's recruits are gone and Daz's recruits are very young. The leaders of this team are now Spaz guys and we know that Spaz could not recruit to save his life. We will be back next year. This year, we take our lumps. A lot of them.

JBQ said...

Good start and then the "earth caved in". As from previous comments, the defense looks very bad.

perkindc said...

Jesus guys, it's only halftime. Pour a whiskey. Chill out...and hopefully our guys will have a better 2nd half.

mod34b said...

will they learn to tackle at halftime? learn to hold the line of scrimmage on D? Learn to own the line of scrimmage on O?

Really fundamental stuff is going wrong.

eagleboston said...

Perk,

I've got some Maker's lined up for the 4th quarter.

ATL_eagle said...

Murphy doesn't seem to be comfortable in the pocket.

eagleboston said...

fullback whiffed on that sack

mod34b said...

Ryan Dy needs to switch to the "heavy package." -- 2 tight ends, unbalanced lines, like last year

needs to establish ground game before Murphy starts passing again.

mod34b said...

hope we can hold them here

eagleboston said...

Who replaces Duggan in the middle?

mod34b said...

whew.. lucked out int he punt.. c'mon big MO change

mod34b said...

Daniles will be MLB

eagleboston said...

Put in Flutie!

Bravesbill said...

Go with Blanton's mod. It's much better.

ATL_eagle said...

I think BC needs to go option from here on out. It is the only thing working.

Bravesbill said...

Or I should say eagle.

ATL_eagle said...

This defensive drive is critical.

eagleboston said...

Murphy is clearly not a passer. We cannot come back in this game with him at quarterback, but I don't think we have any alternative (all kidding about Flutie aside). He missed a wide open receiver on the bomb, threw too high on the INT (although Crimmins still should have caught it), and threw way too far outside for Wofford to stay inbound.

ATL_eagle said...

Our "dudes" are terrible tacklers.

eagleboston said...

Now that's what a passer can do.

Bravesbill said...

Dudes still can't cover either. What a joke.

mod34b said...

i still think murphy could get better at passing. he's not horrible. i think he is learning about passing under pressure as a bC QB

mod34b said...

defense is frighteningly bad.

Don Brown has failed to teach fundamentals

too much blitzing

eagleboston said...

Man, USC next week, this season could go into disaster mode very swiftly. Losing to Pitt at home makes me question all of the remaining games except for Wake, NC State and Maine. A 4-win season is a highly likely scenario right now. Ouch!

perkindc said...

Shut up and drink.

mod34b said...

well, actually not all that much blitzing.. just bad D

Bravesbill said...

USC is going to put up 60 easily esp. with that no huddle offense they've just installed. I wouldn't even count NCST or Wake as gimmes. This could be a 2 win year.

eagleboston said...

You can complain about the defense, but I doubt many ACC defenses will have success against Pitt. A 6'2" 252 pound back? Are you kidding me? That guy is sick.

And Murphy's complete inability to pass the ball is keeping the defense on the field. He flat out cannot throw the ball.

eagleboston said...

Also, it is frustrating that since Murphy is not a passer, they have to settle for 2-5 yard throws which do not advance the ball.

ATL_eagle said...

See. If the D did anything, this could still be a game.

Bravesbill said...

It's about damn time Day opened the playbook up.

mod34b said...

"He flat out cannot throw the ball."

ahem

Bravesbill said...

The D also looked quite shaky against UMass eagle. What's the excuse there?

eagleboston said...

I'm yanking the foot out of my mouth.

Bravesbill said...

Those last two throws looked really good especially the first one on the run. Too bad it took over 40 mins for him to get in a groove.

perkindc said...

Keep ballin whiskey. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. This is how you win football games.

eagleboston said...

You guys should be grateful when I go extreme on the criticism. Look back over the past 7 years of comments and every time I go negative, BC scores.

Reverse karma works!

ATL_eagle said...

Big stop. Now we need to answer.

Big Jack Krack said...

Let's go Ryan Day - give us a chance.

Bravesbill said...

You win football games by going down 20? Big possession here.

mod34b said...

EagleBoston "Go" negative?... think you start there :-)

ATL_eagle said...

Just trying to be too cute. Just run some simple plays.

Bravesbill said...

Oh Jesus. He can't even hit that pass.

Bravesbill said...

Was cute but would have been a big play if executed properly.

eagleboston said...

My brother who is not a BC guy and has no dog in this hunt just called me and said "Can't this guy make a simple pass? He is killing your defense! He's the reason they are on the field so much."

Big Jack Krack said...

Te bad news is Bordner might have run for the 1st down.

mod34b said...

Murphy not quite used to dealing with pressure. he needs to call Chase and get some advise.

why is our OL so bad?

ATL_eagle said...

Need another 3rd down stop right here.

Bravesbill said...

Nope.

eagleboston said...

How come we don't have any sophomore or junior quarterbacks on our roster?

God, Spaz just completely screwed us. I despise that man.

eagleboston said...

If it is any consolation, someone told me Herbstreit picked Pitt to win the Coastal.

ATL_eagle said...

Conner is good.

Bravesbill said...

The Coastal Division is probably worse than the Big East. Wow are those teams bad.

Bravesbill said...

Another head scratcher by Daz.

ATL_eagle said...

I am not expecting a comeback, but I want to see BC put up a fight in the last 10 minutes.

Xman said...

Accept the penalty!

eagleboston said...

I can see everyone left the Stadium and went over to Shea to party.

mod34b said...

excepting Murphy's 51 yard run, BC averaging 1.7 yards per carry

Go OL

Xman said...

Gutless. Awful.

ATL_eagle said...

We don't need "energy" from Murphy. We need better passing.

mod34b said...

passing is off. he had time that last drive and missed, missed, missed.....but still not "way" off....i retain a glimmer of hope for the season (not the game)

eagleboston said...

This game's over. Let's take Murphy out and see what the other quarterbacks can do. If one provides a spark, now the whole team has some hope. If they stink, you are not out anything and you know Murphy is the guy going forward.

Bravesbill said...

Why not just play the young QBs and groom them for the future. Murphy obviously isn't the answer and this season is as good as dead.

eagleboston said...

Kind of weird. I'm not feeling anything right now. I'm not sure if I am stunned or if I came in with such low expectations that I'm just not surprised about this dismantling.

The thought of playing USC horrifies me.

eagleboston said...

Well, I was gonna leave a party early next week to see the USC game, but it might make more sense to DVR it and watch later. We are clearly not going to hang close to USC and the Trojans may put up 60 on the Eagles.

eagleboston said...

Why risk injury to Murphy in a game way out of hand? You have already blown Wade's redshirt, why not put him in?

ATL_eagle said...

I don't feel great about the USC game now. Also worried about going bowling.

perkindc said...

How come BC fans don't watch the whole game from the stands. It's funny..I graduated from BC. Most of my douchebag classmates never ventured further than Harvard Ave (why did they bother going to a city school?) It's safe to assume nothing has changed. So what goes on in the student housing that's so much fun? I always thought that scene was boring. Why not just watch the game and then go out drinking? I don't get it. What's the matter with you people?

eagleboston said...

ATL, this team is not going bowling. The only reason we went last year was due to the remnants of the Jag's recruits. We have to filter out the Spaz recruits and get some experience for the Daz guys before BC goes bowling again. I'm hoping next year, but we may be shut out until 2016.

eagleboston said...

Perk, it's not the students. It's the local alumni. I have found that the students stay all the way to the singing of the alma mater (which we did not have back in the 80's).

Big Jack Krack said...

I don't care about most of the ACC shitty bowls.

I'm interested in being in the hunt for the Atlantic Division (and the ACCCG).

Big Jack Krack said...

Perk - I agree.

eagleboston said...

Big Jack,

With conference expansion, getting to the ACCCG is going to be extremely challenging. Also, I would argue the Atlantic is tougher than the Coastal. Florida State, Clemson, and now Louisville. Ouch!

ATL_eagle said...

That looked like he touched it early.

JBQ said...

Very disappointing display. Murphy can run but he can't pass. His mechanics are terrible. It will be a long year.

perkindc said...

Shiz. I look at Alumni and think how great a Fri night would be there now. I have a career and a family now...plus I live in WI. But watching BC football and then doing a night out in Boston would be amazing. I'm gonna get back to BC this fall for sure. Godspeed fellow Eagles. Let's go get em next week!
