Buffalo on the 2016 schedule

BC's 2016 schedule is becoming a little more clear. After working FOIA requests, MattBC03 confirmed that BC will host Buffalo October 1, 2016. The good news is that this means that BC will have six home games despite the trip to Ireland. The bad news? The home games will be UMass, Buffalo, three ACC games and barring a miracle another FCS team.

Bates deserves credit for working with Buffalo, Northern Illinois and the MAC on making this work. Plenty of altered schedules and penalties were in play, so this did take a good amount of dealing and scheduling to pull it off.

It will be interesting to see how the coach and AD spin the game. It confirms they are keeping the schedule manageable and winnable. The people who pay attention are going to be upset, but I feel like casual fans, recruits and the media won't. I think padding BC's win total is their goal and that will help change perception of the program. I think it will work too. However, if we do build the program with soft scheduling, eventually the media will start calling BC out.

While I have no problem with competitive MAC programs - does anybody think playing cream puffs prepares us for anything? I'd rather have a losing record than a winning record built on meaningless wins. We learn much more about our program playing decent teams.

As usual I'm w/ you. If we are ever to have a dream season again it'll be because we win the ACC. Not because we strung together a bunch of wins against cupcakes.

Wow. Don't know what else to say.

I renewed my season tickets while awaiting this news. Glad I dropped my Flynn Fund DBS on the 50 yard line - I'm through paying extra for this crap!

It's getting so bad that I moved back six rows, gave up the cushioned seats, but I'm still on the 50 yard line. Fans don't want these games - simple as that.

Quality, Brad - Quality!

We are down 6,000 to 7,000 fans on average over the past 5 years - we are trending towards the shameful stage if we haven't reached it already - an embarrassment to the ACC - yet all we are supposed to care about is 7 home games per year.

Wow!

Well BJK, i personally am glad you renewed. You're kinda like my football attendance hero. One day, when I have a tailgate place on Shea, I'll have you by.

Thanks Blist. I couldn't give up the FSU game this year. 😊 they should have tailgating on Brighton Campus too.

Plus we are trending up and I made it through Spazadoozie.

Jack I admire your sacrafice. You moved six whole row (wow!) and gave up your seat cushion for your krack (that's special)

And you took the time to share this moving story (tears!)

Go Eagles!

Danny - it didn't come across the way I intended it to come across.

If I gave up mu DBS I should not have been able to procure other seats so close by and still on the 50. I was trying to say or imply that BC is not selling season tickets very well, if I can waltz in sand get the 50 yard line without donating to the Flynn Fund.

I think ticket sales are abysmal because our OOC games are abysmal.

We are trending towards a 32000 per game average - pitiful.

That's what I was trying ( and failing) to say.

Pardon the typos, please. I'm sitting at the beach.

I have been a supporter of DBS and gave them up in protest - that's also what I was trying to get across. (40 year season ticket holder). I know - scheduling is tough.

Boo hoo - but I'm not buying.

I think those of us who follow your comments regularly understood exactly what you said, and where you were coming from about the schedule. I don't know why anyone would get on your case about it. You are as good an Eagle fan as they come. The internet is a great thing, but there are some problems. Some people use anonymity to be as uncivil as possible.
