Every week seems like a new start to the season. We are now a month in and still don't know what to expect due to injuries and easy schedules. The offense has a lot to prove and so do the QBs. Let's hope they are up to the challenge.

Attendance is really bad. I can't figure out what is wrong in Chestnut Hill. Pro sports town I guess.

Not to mention he has the most beautiful dropbacks and throws perfect spirals every time. He runs with the grace of a gazelle and barks the pre-snap cadence like a drill sergeant. He's proven himself completely capable already. Thank God we beat out NO OTHER FBS SCHOOL to get him!

I acknowledge its a limited sample, but so far Smith has far more upside and explosiveness. He deserves more time. Even if he's just drawing plays in the dirt during the huddle.
Defense is grest
Run the option with Smith over and over. It will open things up.
Flutie better not be put in again like last time. He and the team have done nothing. The ball has actually moved forward with Smith at the helm.
Why no short passes?
Why do we not try short passes. HB dives and fly routes are not the answer. Even with a read option wrinkle.

That was not a well coached offensive half. Terrible.
What a dumpster fire of a end of half plan. Kill clock. Then allow NIU to run the play clock down. Then call a timeout to get the ball back. Run a hurry up offense, clock the ball, followed by a draw to close out. They changed their mind on the end goal 5 different times in there. Awful.

We have a dog fight folks. This team nearly upset the mighty Buckeyes last week. Offense cannot make mistakes in the second half (interception, false starts). Defense can't do much more. Forced a turnover, held NIU to just 2 first downs and 40 yards. I know there were at least 2 sacks by the Connors.
I don't have much to say about the QB situation. Smith ran well, but Flutie put up the seven points. On the other hand, Flutie gave the Huskies 7 points. Neither is going to take us very far this season. Too bad as we have the defense to win the Atlantic.

BC had limited talent, can't you see this. That being said look at what good coaching can do :see Michigan. Held BYU who is ranked to 0 points and 90 yds of offense. BC has below avg players and avg coaching at best. Why some of you are so devoted to watching this junk is bizarre. Go outside, spend time with the family. BC isn't really worth it. I am not even watching the game, just read comments here to find out what's going on.

Hilliman is getting his legs under him. I say let him get his confidence back. Normally though, I'd be calling for way more Willis touches. I think he should be 50/50 for carries with Hilliman, with Outlow seeing some time as well.

Well, that's probably the end of the Jeff smith experiment today.
The offense is going to cost us several losses this year. You have to get points when you get that deep in enemy territory. To come out with zero points and then hit the punt in the endzone is not good for my nerves.

thank god i'm wrong. what an absolute meltdown. just an embarrassing embarrassing game from the coaching staff. an F. players played well. line opened up holes. defense was outstanding. Hilliman ran hard. Smith made plays.
the Flutie rotation was a joke. that "coaching" at the end of the 1st half and 2nd half, i mean, seriously a freshman up on Newton hitting "ask madden" would do a better job. pathetic!
truly thought Spaz was coaching there. playing "not to win" football. running it straight up the middle time and again. taking Smith out after he marches us down the field. going into the prevent defense. what the hell was going on there?
Interesting to see who in the press gets after Daz. Anyone?
TOB took awhile to get going; but he had an interesting insight at the end of the game; i.e., Flutie was in under center because Smith was not as comfortable taking the snaps that way. Many high school star quarterbacks take only shotgun or pistol snaps.
Also, with our center not being set due to injury, the longer snaps seems to be an adventure, especially for Smith.
