Report: Milon asks for transfer release

According to reports, Matt Milon is the latest basketball player to ask for his release. BC won't discuss or confirm, so we won't know when, where or why until Milon talks. With his inconsistent minutes, it shouldn't be a surprise that Milon wants to leave. His shooting should have been an asset this year and still could under the right circumstances. I don't think he is a program changer, but he would be a loss.

Good shooter, was great against the Cuse 23, otherwise not much. In the right situation he could be another Heslip. I guess our needs are so great we can't afford to use up a scholly on a specialist. Who's next Diallo?

If I was the kid, I would leave too. It is obvious that he could shoot and had lots of potential. Christian should have played him. The coach's hangup with Carter was obvious. Coach is digging a hole of his own making.

Milon was a net negative considering how lost he was defensively. Losing him isn't ideal, but he's no more than a 6th or 7th man off the bench long term

@Kash86: I thought that it was the coach's job to teach skills. Milon as a RF had three more years. In Christian's scheme, it was obvious that there was no future for Milon and yet Carter was allowed to shoot coming out of the tunnel. Rahon had the same profile, This year, he was a star for St. Mary's. Wiltjer at Gonzaga couldn't play defense even to save himself on the Titanic. The "complexion" of the basketball problem at BC is becoming more than obvious. Just review your comment in light of the great job done by "Archie" at Villanova and his ability to blend into the offense with all of the super skilled street kids. He made the team better as a team player. Milon could be that type of player just like Rehon. It sure wasn't Carter. Christian couldn't control him. Against NC St., he was 0-11 from three. Christian set up a final play and then he was 0-12. Christian can't control the team. He coaches just like Henning in letting the team walk all over him. What kind of message does Milon and before him Rehon send out to recruits from the more elite high schools?

Rahon never played for Christian, so I fail to see where he fits into any of this. Him transferring after a coaching change happens all the time. It doesn't send any type of message, other than fitting in with the transitory nature of college basketball.

You reference the complexion of BC basketball, is that complexion finally being able to recruit players, because that is essentially the reason why Milon is leaving, he's sees the writing on the wall with Bowman coming in. There's only so many minutes on the court and Milon was a 3 point shooter, that's it, so your comparison to Arcidiacano is false, he was an all around solid PG who wasn a liability on the court.

As for the Carter stuff, I don't think it was Christians inability to control him. There is a very simple way to do so, benching him, so Christian obviously thought he had some kind of value (being the only "PG" on the team). IDK why Christian never reigned him in. Maybe it's so 5th years don't blacklist BC in the future. Maybe it's because he offered Carters brother. I don't know. At a certain point in the season, maybe they thought that running the offense through a 5th year senior was the best course of action. Again, i really don't know, only JC can answer that.

Kash

Rahan was at best a role player in the ACC. Anderson was a middling ACC talent who became a star in the Pac 12. There's the ACC and everyone else. There is just no comparing what a kid can do in league and out. JBQ has a warped agenda, don't get sucked in by him.
