Purdue and Stanford are nice additions to future schedules, but there is no getting around this lineup. We will hear numerous excuses as to why it had to be this way. None of it really matters though. All that mattes now is winning and bouncing back from last year. If Addazio can't bounce back with this schedule, then he deserves all the criticism that comes his way.

Pundits hate our schedule too
As BCI pointed out, CBS thinks BC has the weakest schedule of any Power 5 team. Our non-conference is a joke and even the ACC games line up in a favorable manner. CBS is not alone in trashing our schedule. Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman also thinks BC's slate is very friendly. He uses an index, but is math really needed when you look at UConn, Wagner, UMass and Buffalo?

The publicity about the schedule puts a lot of pressure on Bates and Addazio. My guess is that they never anticipated this. Just rewards for putting someone like Wagner on the schedule. Nowhere to run - nowhere to hide.
With this cream puff schedule, I don't believe even a 7-5 result isn't bowl worthy. Embarrassing.

Oops.sorry guys.
Gotta wonder if our OL is even up to taking on Yukon.
They were almost certainly the worst OL in all of P5 land last year, and I've seen no info (other than some starting experience) to suggest a big improvement.
Think about it:,BC is counting on big things from a transfer from one of the crappy MAc schools to shore up the line. The transfer is not in the category of a UF transfer.
No matter what happens, expect a lot of excuses and bullshit from Daz and his deranged supporters - like 4 years in its Spaz's fault.
as of 9.1.2016, it will be 2,832 days since BC was ranked in top 25 in a major poll.
Can anyone even imagine Daz creating a ranked program in next 2 or 3 years.
Considering that he's failed to put forth a team that is sound in all three phases, I seriously doubt it. We all know about the woes of last year's offense and the number of games we lost the year before because they had the most unreliable kicking game in P5. That's an indictment on Dazaster not Spaz.
The weakness of the schedule will be most apparent in the attendance numbers. Loyalty and habit are the only 2 reasons to buy season tickets. And the Spaz/Daz era, spanning nearly a decade at this point, has made it such that habits have eroded and loyalty is at a breaking point.
People complain about BCs brand around Boston. But it's a competitive sports market. You put together a garbage schedule and people will not be fooled.
With a schedule of such down scale opponents, what will be the measuring stick for DAZ and Bates for retention of either/both?
Are 8 wins the minimum standard? Should a loss to any of the creampuffs be an automatic "Get Out of BC Free Card"?
Can we agree that this is the last season DAZ gets a "bye" for whatever it was the Bates and Fr. Leahy saw in him to hire DAZ against the recommendation of the advisory panel?
I am so tired of our BC being a laughing stock.
Just wait for our lacrosse program to restore our reputation.
Daz has two more yrs. And then he's gone or extended.
"Against the recommendation of the advisory panel": Haven't heard this story. Sad becomes sadder. Addazio has his second honeymoon. Till then.
"Against the recommendation of the advisory panel"
The story was that a BC faculty-student-alum panel was convened to discuss and review possible candidates as part of BB's selection process. As with the whole hiring, the panel was kept secret. After the hiring, it was leaked that the panel decided that it would approve a list if those who were acceptable and a list of those who should not be considered. Prominent on the "Don't Hire" list was DAZ.
This was discussed on social media at the time of the announcement of the DAZ hiring.
Question: why do we have to keep Daz two more year? Is it a money issue or pride (an inability by Bates to admit his mistake)?
What wound it take? I would say going 1-7 in ACC and 3-4 on OOC (losing to Yukon) would make Daz eligible for departure. But cheap BC probably would consider 4-8 an "improvement" and save the $$ by not firing him. Just no commitment to excellence at BC sports. Sad. But true.
I hate it when you make sense.
