A good weekend for BC recruiting

This is getting repetitive, but this weekend was another good one for BC recruiting. Addazio added two more prospects to his already well regarded class. I don't know why the results are improving or how the messaging is changing, but this recruiting class is on pace to be his best. As of now they are in the Top 25 rankings for 247 and climbing up Rivals.

The big get was New Jersey LB Nick DeNucci. Another guy hauled in by Anthony Campanile, DeNucci had a solid list of offers from Big Ten and ACC schools. He also keeps the Garden State momentum going.

Texas OL prospect Thomas Shelmire also verballed. His list of suitors is not as note worthy, but he is well regarded and from a territory where BC can grow its brand. OL guys are harder to project, so this is sort of a numbers and development game, but Shelmire seems like a good bet.

As things move forward Addazio will have a few recruiting challenges Because so many guys committed early, he will have to be judicious with his remaining scholarships. He will also have to keep the class together if the season is bumpy. Finally, he will have to keep the other schools from poaching his players. All of those are nice problems to have because it means you have something worth holding on to.

Eight out of 16 hard commits are from RC high schools. That's very good to see as it shows we are taking advantage of our position and a lot of those urban area RC schools put out good athletes. They need to zone in on those schools and continue to build.

It will still require some one who has a clue offensively. Maybe Maryland is a ray of
hope.
Struggling to score has become a major problem.
Losing the big games is one thing. Getting STOMPED is another.

"It all depends on what the meaning of 'is' is". Because of the recruiting, will 4-8 still bring him back for future considerations.?

Getting into the Dallas Tx and signing a starting o-lineman from a public school state championship team is a big deal.

Would be good to know why is not very highly reruited.

Good to see BC climbing recruiting lists! and we are not recruiting MAC player either!!

But look at the player ratings: BC is now getting Conference USA level players

This not going to cut the mustard re FSU, Clem, ND, L'Ville, VT etc.

Not sure of why the excitement for these players. I hope they pan out but Daz will be gone and the next coach will have to deal with them. Personally I hope that some get poached as a year out commitment is like a guaranteed contract - they will do sh@@@@ in final year.

Related - what has the new AD done, informed or kept BC community in loop?
I fear he will be a bust and BC destined for someone else to make decisions for the sports future.

DeNucci looks impressive. Fast, tough, good tackler, good play recognition. Impressive. Nice size all over that conference, too.

Ha. Hope he isn't hurt when he gets a star knocked off for committing. Good player, great motor.

Max, I think Jarmond's first day as AD was last week. Let's give him a chance to get moved in before we worry about what he is doing.

I'd hold off the celebrating yet; it looks like BC is ranked so high because they have double the amount of recruits than most other schools. BC was ranked decently last year early on before plummeting when those other schools filled out their classes. I'd expect another drop this year; the amount of the drop TBD. On a bright note, all of BC's recruits are 3 stars and 10 have power conference offers, which is much better than years past.

If BC struggles this year, then recruits could jump ship. The positive thing to take away from last year was that BC should've beat GT and Syracuse. If that happened, BC would've been a 9 win team last year. They should be better this year given the continuity of the coaching staff.

BC's offense in 2017 should be the best of the Addazio era. Not saying much but it will be the most experienced, combined with the fact that we have a legitimate OC who chose to stay more than one year.

Three star prospects tend to commit earlier than 4-5 star prospects. We are definitely in a better place than last year, but our high ranking is a product of volume, i.e. we have more recruits signed than other power 5 schools. A data point is that Alabama is not ranked in the top ten for 2018 recruiting class on many sites...obviously that will change going forward as the 5 stars commit.

Revisionist rose colored glasses. Come on! They lost. Stop trying to rationalize it. Hell why don't you say if we didn't get blown out by FSU and Louisville we would have been a 'contender'. Get real. It will be years before BC football is relevant again. Hopefully the program can weather the years.
