Aaron Gethers commits to BC

It didn't take long for Aaron Gethers to decide he wants to go to BC. The kid is literally and figuratively fast. After just getting an offer at BC's camp, the Pennsylvania DB is ready to come to the Heights.

In the article, he also mentions the impact assistant coaches Campanile and Leonard had on the process. Having recruits references him as a critical recruiter, is another reason why Campanile has become so valuable to Addazio.

Congrats again to Gethers. I hope at BC he figures out how to turn that speed into some defensive wins.

Strange story through BCI: Georgia State in Atlanta just cleaned house and Jeff Jagodzinki signed to coach the offensive line at Notre Dame. This would be Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tenn. He still has five mouths to feed (Josh, JoAnne, Jessica, Jacqueline, Jennifer) along with his wife Lisa. This is always a very sad story. Whenever you read "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner", there is always a picture of Coach J with an albatross on his right shoulder.

Screw him.

@Georgia Eagle: I would like to know why. I know that he manipulated a contract buyout but he was successful.

Ask TGS about sad. His "son" is going to Providence College.

That school is the pits.

@Georgia Eagle: I see your point but don't agree. Maybe, he was a Judas. However, look at what Rick Pittino and his sort have done. Take a look at what happened in 2014 at UNC under the spotlight of Mary Willingham and still no prosecution. Let's judge Jags in the context of his situation. Even his wife has remarked that two stubborn individuals ran into each other with GDF. Whatever the truth, what has happened to BC football since is a Shakepearean tragedy.--------It looks like Spaz wanted the job enough to undercut Jags. Addazio is even worse if that is even possible. With a fire in progress, Leahy has been throwing gasoline. Now, you bring in an A.D. whose only job at Ohio State was to work on schedules and whose wife is a hot looking dentist who knows Urban Meyer.------This is like the NY Mets of "Can anybody play this game?"

Gethers had some big offers from Buffalo and Howard. Two powerhouse programs.

@Chris: very informative.

In other news Jeff Jagazinski was just hired to be the next Offensive line coach for Notre Dame...High School. I honestly don't believe coach Jags would've had much success at BC if he had stayed. Coach Jags benefited from the talent that Tom O'Brien recruited, plus Jags has had no success since he was fired from BC which tells you that he was a two pump chump.

@Chris: about Jags: Maybe, maybe not. I think that both sides of the coin can agree that he was a "shooting star" that burned up early and was gone. I would say that raising five kids and being faithful to his wife is one measure of success that we often overlook.

His wife and kids have nothing to do with the fact that he is a terrible fraud as a football coach. He is a pompom waiver with a big mouth and nothing to back it up, from a coaching perspective.

He also took an interview for the jets coaching job while he was hc at bc after he agreed to notify gene d if he was going to interview for another job

He is a goddamned coniver and deserves every single professional failure that he has encountered since leaving BC. There have been 5-6 of them.

Precisely.

Meh, he jumped at an NFL chance when the iron was hot.....just likely 99% of coaches would. He did take TOB's players and got them to the ACC Championship twice, the second appearance being pretty remarkable given the amount of talent he lost after the first year. Let's face it, TOB never made a championship game or won a conference championship, while choking away numerous opportunities. Using some of the logic here, does this mean Jags was a better coach than TOB? TOB sucked at NCST so is he just as bad of a coach as Jags? Good ol Al has literally done nothing since leaving BC, was he a bad coach as well? Stupid metric.

The point was clearly missed. He lied to the AD because he wanted to leave Boston College but didn't have the fortitude to say it(even though he agreed to). Nobody is saying that he shouldn't have wanted the Jets job.

Jagodinski is a horrible coach. His track record proves it.

Tom O'Brien was successful at BC using his own coaching philosophy. Remember he took a dumpster fire program with a high profile gambling scandal and turned it into a top 25 program. Jags was only successful at BC because he had TOB's players and Steve Logan's offense. Why do you think the Bucs dumped Jagodinski but kept Logan?

No HC has been successful at NC State, ever. It is a loser program.

Logic games are stupid too.

You aren't smarter than everyone else.

The metric that was used was coaches' success at other programs after BC, in which it was concluded that Jags was a horrible, no good coach. Using the same metric, TOB and Al would also be horrible, no good coaches. And isn't one of the HC's responsibilities to bring in competent subordinates? Makes your argument about Logan far less compelling. Face it, Jags took TOB's players and made the ACCCG twice, and received far more national attention than TOB ever did.

Jagodinski is a terrible coach. He had 2-3 good years at BC. Every other stop he had was a failure. Even jagodinski could spin the rosters he was given into high level winning records in a "down" ACC. But be didn't get W's in the championship games either. Your argument is pointless.
