There were some issues, but I won't harp on that now.
I know some of you fear this type of win will save Addazio's job. Don't focus on that now. Be glad for the players and coaches that bust their asses representing BC. They deserve our support and that was a great win.
The post-game Periscope is below.
I will have second viewing thought and grades up late Sunday.

Boston College had scored 37 points total in ACC play coming into this game.
45 against Louisville.
What a great game. Team really came together.
Good to see.
The shedding (flinging) of the tackler by Dillon was awesome (on big run) .
Up there with Sir Luke's stiff arm TD
Section D,
You are a loser and hypocrite.
Awesome win for the eagles. Give the defense some rest this week for their injuries with midterms going on. Let's get ready mash UVA.
Dillion is legit. Cannot wait for Dirstine to come in next season. The line will be legit between he and Petrula.
Elijah Johnson will be back too, hopefully.
We also have two freshmen 300 pound DL who have the size. Jaleel Berry from Syracuse and TJ Rayam from Alabaster, AL. His father played for Alabama.
Hopefully the coaching staff will bring them along. I think they are red shirting.
Fantastic job by the PLAYERS and coaches Scott Loeffler ( Candidate for new head coach and
Ricky Brown special teams coach.
A Most wonderful miracle " FOR BOSTON " "Let the echoes RING AGAIN."
Loeffler unleashed is just amazing !!!!!!!!!!
it's been a long time since i enjoyed watching a BC game----please don't stop now. Maybe daz realizes playing to win is more exciting than playing not to lose
It's been a long time since we had a game like that! Have to tip your hat first to Colton Lichtenberg for making the field goal. If he had not, I doubt we would have won as our D had run out of gas. And that field goal made Dillon's remarkable performance more meaningful to him and everyone else. It was also such a breath of fresh air to see some simple pass completions by Wade - makes a difference doesn't it? Tight ends played great. Wade needs to start - he had his opportunity and made the most of it. Man - that was fun!
They ran the same play 12 times on the bootleg and it worked half the time. Now u can tweak it.
Just win baby
“We have a lot of things to work on, a lot of things to fix,” coach Bobby Petrino said. “This is about as tough a loss as I remember being around.”
aaaah sweet schadenfreude (look it up knucklehead)
Section D,
Don't need to look it up. Loser hypocrite. Come up with some real material. Quote that.
A lot of times you can tell what will happen in a game based on line changes close to kickoff. It will change slightly before the game starts and a lot of times the game result will follow the change.
Our game was a ridiculous example of it. The over under went from 56.5 to 60.5 this morning and the spread went from 22.5 to 19.5.
Louisville has given up a lot of points this season.
Great win. Best road win in many years. This probably saves Addazios job, as it should. If he takes the blame for all loses, he should get the credit for a surprising win. We're looking at 5 or 6 wins and a bowl game. A lot of talent returning next year. Talent that Addazios brought here. Next year will determine his fate. Enjoy the win.
Charles Dickens said it best in "A Tale of Two Cities". It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. I am happy for the players and the university. However, not so happy for the coach.
Please don't tell me that 4-8 or 5-7 is enough to save this loser.
My fear exactly. Just because the cancer is temporarily in remission doesn't mean you no longer cut it out.
IF they can play like today every week, we'll all be happy (most of us). Wade will need to be able to hit wide open receivers more than 7 yards down field and Dillon will need more plays like this one. https://youtu.be/wT1kyBeDPuU If you missed the game enjoy this play.
If Walker can continue to steal 10-15 yards of field position per punt, the offense works downhill.
I think the Pack throttles us, but the other games should be competitive. Up to the coaching staff to put the talent in place to execute.
No need to debate. It is pretty much decided:
5-7 or worse - Daz gone
6-6 - Jarmond waits to see bowl outcome
7-5 or better - Daz stays.
Good team win today. More work to do. Jury still out on the season.
I am thrilled for the kids; they played their hearts out, and things finally came together today. It's clear we have some very good talent, though I am still unconvinced of Daz's ability to develop players.
I'm still trying to figure out just what the difference was with the offense today. Better O-line play? Addazio keeping his nose out of things? Whatever it was, I hope we see more of it.
And AJ Dillon is the real deal. If this keeps up, he'll be a Heisman contender down the road.
Part of the deal is that Petrino is a loser. Nobody wants to go the extra mile for him.
Knuckle's brilliance is too bright for my eyeballs. Tell me more about Vegas and their 22 point spread. Use your big words.
Dillon is now the sacrificial lamb at the altar of Daz in order to save the coach's job. He will be liberally run into the ground from here on out; meanwhile the offense will still be unbalanced and now that defenses knows what's coming, he will face 8 man fronts and force the offensive coordinator to be creative. Fat chance. Good to see Brown's running skills at least. Well, I guess my comments from last week have at least come to some sort of fruition...the best defense in college ball is an offense that can put up points.
About that Aj Dillon flinging of the Louisville safety #22 en route to his 75 yard romp.
#22 is Chucky Willisms. 6-2 216. 3year started st Safety. One of Louisville leading tacklers and a Captain. A highly touted recruit out of Miami FL area.
That is to say, Dillon flung aside like garbage one of the best Safeties in the ACC.
I’m not saying this saves his job or I still want him running the show, but you have to give the devil his due.
So now everyone wants to make Daz coach of the year?
Not at all. I still remember what happened after he won at NC State last year. Anything less than 7-5 should definitely prompt his termination. I’m merely viewing today in a vacuum and giving him a little kudos. The players deserve the lion’s share of the credit, though.
By the way, Wade for starter next week?
CT, Some days I am stupid and somedays I use big words. Eitherway you are incapable of comprehension.
Everything you say is a display of insecurity.
Section D,
You are a loser, a hypocrite and a moron.
There is nothing about the Louisville defense that is the best in the ACC. They are bottom 10 in points allowed. There are about 10 teams that have given up more points than them.
Another stupid comment by you.
Esquire , Wade missed two wide-open receivers that could have cost us the game. I believe the first priority of the new coach is to recruit a tall, pro-style pocket passer (a Matt Ryan clone). BC is going nowhere with the QB talent we have now.
Georgia. Enjoy a little sunshine.
Try to enjoy a fun game and win. No one is saying this now means we want Daz. - I don't
Good advice, D. My loathing of Daz has diminished my appreciation of the kids and a good win.
Georgia Eagle: No bunnies. I’m not talking long term. Just this week. I’ll concede Wade missed wide open receivers that could of easily and should have cost them the game. So did Brown. In this game and in others. He’s also made some bad reads throughout the season. Not running to convert the first down in the second quarter because he elected to throw a fifty fifty ball in the end zone that was picked. Most of the BC scores with Wade under the center were attributed to Dillon. But he did have one nice drive where he converted on 4th. He seemed very effective with play action roll outs. Teams always load the box against us. Wade deserves a chance. Every game left on the schedule is winnable.
I don't know why everyone is saying Wade needs to start. Anthony Brown completes those same short throws. The difference is when Brown was in the game they weren't called every other down. Wade showed nothing. He literally handed the ball to Dillon.
Okay. I'll give Wade a chance. What the hell do we have to lose??
Wade had command at the line of scrimmage and confidence in making quick decisions. The end zone view of dillon's run is even more impressive because he was hit by another defender first.
Brown should start. This team is going nowhere. He is a better athlete than Wade and will improve with experience. It will pay off for them down the road.
Congrats to all connected with the team for that win but it can’t overcome the five year body of work this coach has put together. He could have cost them yesterday’s game by foolishly calling two timeouts at the end of the first half yesterday as BC was driving for a score. He left Louisville 51 seconds AND their timeouts with one of the best QBs in the country. He could have brought the clock down to 10 seconds or so before BC scores. If you have followed the team he has done things like that througout his tenure. Yesterday’s gaffe went under the radar because Louisville didn’t score. If they had scored it would have been a 14 point halftime deficit and BC may not have won that game.
He is one of the worst game day coaches I have ever seen and at a school such as BC where you will play half your games each year against teams with superior athletic talent you HAVE to try to get an edge in other areas such as coaching. They need to turn the page on this guy.
Last time he had good-very good offensive coordinator we did fairly well. Ryan Day
This is how exciting things could be with exciting coaching. Get rid of him now and let
Loeffler finish the season as head coach.
Do it "FOR BOSTON"
Wade was effective because he is left handed. All the same throwing plays we're run in the first half by Brown to the other side of the field. They were not ready for everything to be thrown to the other side of the field.
Incorrect. Wade was effective on those short throws because we could RUN the ball. That's it.
He is like most 6' QBs not named Brees.
They ran well in the first half and Brown didn't throw well.
The additional pressure of playing the pass on that side was the difference.
Throws and passes to the left side all second half. If brown was in the passes would have been to the right. We put all the pressure on the left side of their defense and they snapped. Wade being left handed was the difference.
Ok we are 3-4 with 5 games left. UConn should be a win which gets us to 4 wins. The remaining four teams all have winning records with the exception of FSU which is is going to be a tough match even in a down year for them.
My sense is that BC takes one of the four remaining games in addition to UConn which will put them at 5-7 and they will tout youthful talent in need of new leadership and Daz will be gone. I am happy to be wrong and if Daz goes 7-5 he probably deserves another year with an improving team. I just don't see that happening.
The good news is that we have avoided the dreaded albatross of a winless ACC record.
At 5-7 we are probably bowl bound. At 6-6 we are definitely bowling. Tough to eat three years of $2.5 million salary and pay the $ 3-4 million a year it will take to attract a decent coach. Our athletic budget is not set up for paying two HC salaries at the same time for three years.
right now, Bc has the 2d toughest schedule in NCAA FBS per Sagarin
Clemson is #4, ND is#10, VT #18 , Wake #32, LV #36 - based on Louisville game, it looks like the team has quickly matured under fire. 5 very tough opponents
UVA has played easier teams and has #64 toughest schedule.
UVA seem winnable.
