BU bounces BC from Hockey East Tourney

When BU tied the game up late in the 3rd, I had a bad feeling about OT. However, BC looked great in the extra time. They generated more shots, the penalty kill was great (and generated some O) and they were controlling everything. Yet it just took a little scramble in front to end it all. The bad guys won 4-3 (highlights below).

The BC release mentions the team waiting for selection show on Sunday, but many pundits think BC is out. Keep your fingers crossed.

Maybe not a choke job, but when the pressure is on, BC, across the board, far too often comes up short.

BC hockey took a nosedive after Mike Cavanaugh left

minor correlation.

players not staying at least 3 years is the issue.

along with more teams.

facilities are not great-look at providence/penn state.

he has to want to get out of UCONN. I would sign him if jerry moved on.

I agree with Bravesbill - we always seem to come up short lately in every meaningful game no matter what we are playing. But then again - how do you think the Virginia fans feel after getting whipped by the Retrievers? Sports!

In Cavanaugh's last five seasons at BC (08-09 to 12-13), BC won two national titles and three Hockey East tournament titles. BC went 24-4 in postseason games (16-2 in Hockey East tournament and 8-2 in NCAA tournament).

In the five years since he left, BC has won zero national titles and zero Hockey East tournaments. BC has gone 13-11 in the postseason (9-8 in Hockey East and 4-3 in the NCAAs).

With all due respect, its hard to win it all and when the field went to 16 teams winning Hockey East lost some luster. Keep in mind all the great teams of Snooks and Len and the drought. Think 1949- 2001. That is incredible with all of the good teams we had. We were spoiled. We also could not predict the trend where so many players left after 1-2 years and that left us with the youngest team in the NCAA. And imagine if we had Eeli Tolvanen. It was a frustrating year. But we have it stacked pretty well for the next two years..... If we don't return to the Frozen Four after 2020, then be concerned. But have faith in Jerry. Losing Cavanaugh changed a little of culture for sure, and mediocre facilities, except for locker room, don't help. But again, hang in there.... we are still the Alabama of Hockey.

Looking at facilities # 2 sport across the country is forced to practice in Roberts gym.
Conte basically for games . Sounds like a real basketball facility is in order.
What other ACC teams must deal with such an undesirable situation ?

ACC sucks this year - down goes UNC, big time.
