Addazio, Jarmond release statements to Globe about Smith

Addazio and Jarmond finally did the smart thing and released individual statements on Zach Smith. (It seems like the Globe was the only outlet that got the statements.) A written release was probably safer and better than making comments in front of the cameras. They say the right things without getting into the specifics of what each knew and when they knew it. It will be interesting if this is the last the two talk about it and if the national media guys start to dig into the issue and Smith's history.

The first two sentences are all one needs to know.

hese guys are goofs for using "Boston College" in the press release. We have nothing to do with it. Two wimps who cannot deal with their own problems.

Should not have said a word. Nobody really cares about BC sports the media is looking for a story. The press release gives it to them. Especially if he offered the guy a job at Temple.

Bozos.

Daz may be asked to elaborate at next presser, but can now just refer to this succinct, direct statement. I do not believe he had direct authority over Smith at Florida, so he should be fine. Unless either of their names come up in OSU investigation, Urban throws them out there, or the unlikely case that there is dirt on either of them this should die quick. Was probably the right move.

Did you read the last sentence? He invited them to ask him for specifics after the issue is resolved. He had it right until he said, while the investion on going.

Whoever wrote this needs to be taught how to deal with the media.

The original response from Dazzler, on the Turkeys Twitter account, was the way to go.

You just had three weeks of positive stories in the paper Boston Globe about preseason watch lists, the indoor facility and an interview with AJ Dillon. Then you shoot yourself in the foot with this garbage statement written by a halfwit that drags your name into the mud literally with the shit stains in Columbus and Gainesville?

I'd like to know who wrote the statements, they did not go to Boston College.

On a different note, Nolan Borgersen is now a defensive back. We have a pretty interesting group back there this year.

And another one - our first opponent, The UMass Minutemen, travel to Athens, GA on November 17th to take on the Bulldogs!

Since many people think the Dawgs will make the CFP, wouldn't it be nice to give UMass a big Valentine beatdown and hope they play well in Athens. 🙂

It’s reassuring that they take beating a woman seriously. Glad those Jesuit ideals filtered down to the athletic department.

The only thing that release stands for is the time we live in.

Way to go BC. Front page of Bleacher Report. Morons.

Who is this CT imposter? Certainly doesn't seem like the one we know.

No offense - just seems like a different style.

BJK. That’s me. I do agree with Knuckle so I would be embarrassed to post. They butchered this. But I have some empathy given the times.

Thanks, CT.

If the times were taken into account they would have stuck to the original response. These are the times of the media creating shit out of nothing. Original response was air tight. The statement was written by someone unconcerned with the reputation of Boston College, whose name was used as a shield in the statement to protect the football coach and AD. Stupid and pathetic.

The person who wrote the statement ought to be fired immediately. The people who it's was written for are pathetic for letting it be ascribed to them.
