BC Basketball lost to Hartford in overtime. We were without Mitchell. Tabbs was limited and Chatman rusty. Those are just excuses though, because there is no reason this BC team should be losing to that Hartford team. It's coaching. The lack of depth. The lack of a consistent defensive system. The curious ingame decisions. That's all on Jim Christian. Too often he has more talent and yet his team plays down to his opponent. If they played up to their opponent more often, than we could discuss saving him. But they don't. They are too often flat and without direction. This is not working and it is on the coaching. There is some talent and there are some coaching moments worthy of praise, but not enough of either to compete in the ACC.
This post might look foolish in a month. BC might get healthy and start rattling off impressive wins. I doubt it though. I don't think Christian has it in him to turn this around.
Martin Jarmond used his goodwill to save Addazio despite a frustrated fanbase. He can ask for patience if Christian has another losing ACC season and we are an NIT bubble team, but why waste everyone's time and money. This is not working.

Funny, not once has ATL called for Dazoshit's head. Not once. Jarmond is in over his head. No leadership, no balls. Our entire sports program is collapsing.
I’d rather get rid of Daz than Christian at this point. Christian has at least shown some flashes, Daz not so much.
Jarmond extended Christian as well, and he's good for 4 more years, counting this one.

They are both subpar. BC is locked into mediocrity. It all starts at the top. If Jarmond wants a long prosperous career he better start riding herd on these highly paid coaches - he's there boss not their buddy.
Both Daz and JC suck and need to go. But to say JC has done a better job? At least BC Football was ranked. BC Hoops is an embarrassment. This difference between the two is only that Daz beats his cupcakes. I cancelled my donation to the Flynn Fund. We are BC We are an embarrassment.
My New Year's resolution- not to give a dime to BC until they commit to a winning sports program, starting with the termination of Dazoshit and Christian piss.
The biggest heartbreak is that this isn't fun anymore.
Hartford is supposed to challenge Vermont for first in their conference . We will be very
fortunate to finish two above last place. NIT a major STRETCH.
Martin needs to match his great find in women's bb with one in mens.
Jim has a major recruiting problem. Ky Bowman could start for any team in the
country. Tabbs may eventually prove he could be anyone in the ACC 's sixth man. The remainder
could not start for Hartford.
Jared ,Danya and Malcolm would solve recruiting problem and have us steadily in
the 4-6 range ACC.

You have to wonder if Jarmond is just a lame-duck OC and a figure head for either the board or Father Leahy.
He doesn't seem particularly interested in facing facts or addressing the concerns of the fans, students, and alumni that support the program. He seems to only invest his time in appearances where they are scripted or the questions will be non-threatening. It's safe to assume that he's only bending knee to big money donors who don't care about performance.
Jarmond has only addressed the Daz situation with a weak press release. He's never really acknowledged the debacle at the Syracuse game with operations and concessions. He's hoped the Texas A&M thing would go away, but it isn't.
Now he's faced with a lame-duck football coach who can't find anyone to take his Offensive Coordinator job because he insists on running his own offense, which has shown it does not work, and everyone knows he is a lame-duck. He's saddled with a men's basketball coach who he just gave an extension to, that can't inspire his team or coach them to any sort of competitive being. He has a women's soccer coach running for the hills, and her best players fleeing campus.
Add to that that our legendary men's ice hockey coach is seemingly on his last legs, with the team being non-competitive the last few seasons, and continuing a trend to being irrelevant this season. With other schools throwing money at Ice Hockey programs in our backyard, we are complacent, at best, if not falling off of a cliff. You can't fire Jerry, and Jerry has made no mention of retiring or stepping down, and Jarmond needs to handle that with kids' gloves.
Really... what has Jarmond actually accomplished at this point? The practice facility wasn't him. GameDay wasn't all him. The only thing I can think of that he can claim credit for is these debacles and PR Nightmares.
The posters here need to wake up. As I’ve written a million times, this is not the BC you grew up loving.
It is now an ACC money grubbing operation more concerned with being properly PC and liberal enough to keep pansies like Khead happy.

Daz, Christian and Jarmond all need to be shown the door. Right now they are just guys collecting a paycheck. No vision or plan is in place to bring the football and basketball programs up to Division 1 standards. My Lord VT now has a ranked basketball team. Spinning our wheels with these clowns.

This is an embarrassing post, Bill. The team and program are on the upswing, with a few bad habits (like playing down to bad non-conference teams).
On the upside, we have a future all-everything freshman at PG, Ky at SG, and a decent front court. This team should be right on the tournament bubble and has the talent to hang in the ACC. And you shouldn’t state otherwise until ... hell, a few conference games have been played.
Jim Christian is a good man who runs a clean program on the upswing and treats everyone around him right. See how the season plays out.
In the meantime, maybe clean up your comment section to eliminate the clowns who keep referring to our promising AD as a “mouse” who “parties” and espouse viewpoints more befitting of the 19th century than the 21st.

I like Jim Christian. I think he was given zero tools to succeed and is damn near doing so anyway. I think the basketball program is on the best footing that it’s been on, with a continued upward trend, since Gene needlessly fired Skinner and that BC’s best athletics blog should recognize that before calling for its coach to be fired before conference play begins. I think the middle of the ACC is soft and that we are in it. BC should never, ever lose to Hartford; that it did so without 2 of its best 3 players, is not the basis on which to fire a coach.
