Smith suspended and other links

BC suspended Brady Smith indefinitely. Jags didn't give a reason but the Herald is reporting that Smith was charged with breaking and entering and sexual assault. Unfortunate...in many ways.

Football held its second scrimmage of the spring. Chris Crane took the majority of the first team reps.

BC grad Mike Mayock is becoming an NFL draft guru to rival Mel Kiper.

Philly.com took a look at Matt Ryan's mental approach to the game. As reader LegalEagle92 pointed out, Logan's quotes are very interesting.

Logan doesn't tell the NFL teams this, and he never told Ryan, but he said he probably wouldn't have recruited "this skinny kid running a 5.0 (40-yard dash) with an OK arm."

Logan was fortunate that Ryan already was a star quarterback by the time the coach arrived in Boston.

"When I'm recruiting in the college world, we try to have four or five [quarterbacks] on the roster just so we can find one," Logan said.

The Globe's Mike Vega returned briefly to his old stomping grounds to cover Ryan's hectic week before the draft. The series also included a timeline and photo gallery.

I know it's difficult considering you live in Atlanta but is more bc football coverage on the way? I am curious to know how the team is looking in spring practice and how the running back position is developing. Seems like Haden hasn't quite won the job yet. My current outlook on the season is rather pessimistic being that I haven't heard anything overly positive (or negative) but that is a bad omen in a tough ACC.
