First day and other links

It is just practice, but BC played football today! Not much news but some great pics in the link from bceagles.com. The best news was Clarence Megwa playing at full speed.

Surprisingly HD didn't put BC at the bottom of the ACC.

Nothing from the Globe today, but the Herald had two pieces (Thompson stepping up and a general preview). ACC Sports also posted questions facing BC.

The Colts brought Chris Crane back into their camp. (Thanks to Bill for the link.)

I'll tell ya what.... Shinskie is a big dude. That photo, bigger than I expected, after only a short time with football weight training.

Any idea what kind of compensation Crane is getting? Say he gets cut the last week of August, will he have pulled my annual salary in 3 weeks?

good to see that Megwa's recovery went well. He's got reliable hands and provides another good target to shinskie or whomever is slinging the ball around.

Am I the only one wondering what the hell Crane is doing reading an NFL roster much less being on one?

Finding competent pro QBs must be akin to finding competent starting pitching in MLB. Thus, Mr. Crane's flirtation with the Sunday professionals.

Yet another reason to believe in the all-too-trite "nobody believes in us" card:

Scroll down to "Free Fallers" and "Dismissals."

Obviously, Mr. Schlabach didn't watch a whole lot of BC football late last year.

And we still should've beaten Vandy if the refs didn't call that atrocious roughing-the-passer penalty on 4th down.

At the end of the latest Spaziani article they threw in something about negotiations between BC and ND. Any insight on that one?

You can't teach size and arm strength. There is no doubt Crane had that, in addition to above average speed. It's not surprising he got invited to camp, just like it's not surprising QP is doing well in Canada.

Now, whether or not they can improve on their poor in game decision making remains to be seen.
