BC starts 2011 recruiting and other links

September 1 marks the first day colleges can officially offer rising high school juniors scholarships. The first target for BC is Albert Louis-Jean. He's a very young 15 and BC's interest will probably spark other programs to offer.

Current verbal Chase Rettig may miss some of his senior season games with a stress fracture in his back.

The New York post included a story on Spaz today.

Here is another article on Dominique Davis' play in junior college.

Men's soccer starts their season tonight against Rhode Island.

Despite the win, seems like a rough outing for Dominique Davis. I don't think Shinskie/Tuggle are any bit of a drop off from him. His team did fumble once (not lost) but it doesn't say if it was him or not.

Also, top notch Observer College action in the NY Post article.

Reading about Davis' game brought me to this obvious, but surprisingly encouraging conclusion: we sucked at QB last year and went to the ACC championship game. (Seriously, Crane didn't suck only in comparison to Davis.) Every other aspect of the offense should have improved or remained steady. We're worrying too much about the QB situation. If the defensive front seven can keep themselves from being blown out, we could be much better than anyone is predicting.
