Today a class of
BC students graduated and officially became alumni. Although I am a little biased, you'll find that sports is one of the strongest pulls back to BC. I am sure that you have many great friends and met many great people (who knows, maybe like me you met your spouse at BC). As you travel and wear a BC hat or shirt, you'll run into random BC people around the country and world. And of course BC won't hurt your professional career. But as you get older and move on, add more commitments and complications to your life, there will always be BC sports. You'll turn on your TV and there will always be a fresh batch of athletes and super fans cheering them on to remind you of your time at the Heights. Don't hang on to tight though. There is a big world out there and you don't want to be talking about the glory days either. I guess my advice is to tune in when you can, always hope for an Eagles win and keep a small piece of BC in your heart.
If rumors are to be believed, Steve Donahue persuaded former Colgate commitment Danny Rubin to come to BC. So we will have at least one 2010 recruit.
Heading into the ACC Tourney, BC is squarely on the bubble and considered one of the last five in.
CFN came out with their ACC skill position rankings. They didn't think much of Shinskie but like Harris and Pantale.
Blackmon is ready for his position switch.
After a long hiatus, KSK broke out a new Matt Ryan explained.

I used to work in a company that had two people named Dan Rubin. Neither looked anything like an athlete. Here's hoping the 3rd time is a charm.
I don't think much of Shinskie either...
I think Larmond should have made the preseason ACC top 10. His numbers as the #2 receiver are certainly comparable to some of the guys on the list
29 rec/ 596 yards/ 20.6 yds per/ 5 tds
I hope he has overcome his tendency to drop key balls.
thanks for the graduation wishes and advice!
"Revoked (basketball)scholarships surprise college athletes" _ maybe we can pick up some of these guys :-)
I couldn't find Rubin listed in the Rivals or Scout databases. That can't be good, can it?
On the flip side, Colgate was due for their next Adonal Foyle, maybe Dan is the white sharpshooter incarnation.
Regardless, welcome about Danny and congrats to all the new graduates.
A co-worker asked me why BC graduation is always a Monday. I didn't know what to say other than it always has been that way since I've known. I instructed that it wouldn't be Sunday due to church obligations. Otherwise... anyone know? More hotel rooms if other schools do theirs on the weekend?
Re graduation: I know BU is Sunday, I think some of the other big Boston schools are on the weekend. Probably makes sense to spread it out for restaurant/hotel/transportation concerns. I remember my grad year it poured on Sunday for BU and was nice and sunny for us :)
Rubin on Scouts -
April, 2010: Danny is an unsigned shooter with size and length that was one of the best shooters in Big Shots DC Assault event. He has a big time stroke that has no dip and can shoot it in the break or off down screens with range. He needs to improve his foot speed but he uses his length and bouncy step to make up for it. Danny can shoot the 1-2 dribble pull up off a shot fake or can finish strong inside, has the athleticism to play a run and jump game. He'd be a great fit in a system like William & Mary's with his ability to make sharp cuts, makes reads, and shoot the 3 off screens. A solid get for MVC, Patriot, Ivy, and certain system schools. Danny is a consistent scorer that averaged 20 ppg. as a senior. He is considering reclassifying.
Matt -- thanks for the info you've posted. I must say, though, the report on Rubin is underwhelming.
We -- BC -- are getting for ACC play a guy who is merely a "solid get" for an Ivy league program. In other words, he would be an ok role player in a lesser league.
When you add Rubin to Clifford, another prized recruit for the lesser leagues, heck we will be able to blow out Harvard. It will be frightening, though, playing Duke, UNC, FSU, Clemson, VTech etc. with these lesser lights.
maybe Donahue is trying to round out the practice squad?
Donahue , please step up your recruiting efforts.
Was that a BravesBill post or a Mod34b post?
CT -- I hope I have not descended into the dark gloom of Bravesbill. Yeesch.
To be honest Mod, that is something I would say. Maybe you are converting to the dark side.
Sports have been increasingly organized and regulated from the time of the Ancient Olympics up to the present century..................
