Predicting Murphy's impact and other links

Transfer QBs are fairly commonplace in college football these days. If the depth chart gets too crowded or the coaching staff changes, QBs look for better fits. A transfer QB is my biggest reason for optimism this season, yet Murphy is only considered the 6th most important transfer QB.

Like Soaring to Glory, I expect a bounce back year from Sean Duggan. He showed flashes his first two years, but was a non-factor last season.

Al Louis-Jean signed a three-year rookie deal with the Bears. Who would have thought he'd get this far in the process?

Incoming Women's Basketball transfer Kailey Edwards originally committed to Erik Johnson when he was still at Denver. Edwards will have to sit out the 2014-15 season.

Sailing placed 4th at the APS National Championship Team Race.

Best wishes to Tyler Murphy. Being from St. Louis, I am still a Christian Suntrup fan. This blog stated that he is on a medical scholarship. I called and talked to admissions and he is scheduled to graduate in May 2015. However, I talked recently on a plane to family of a high school teammate. It was stated that he was going to transfer to Duke. If he does graduate next Spring, he would still have one year of eligibility left.

Seems like a pretty big breach of privacy on admissions' part if true.

I called admissions and got his social security number and website history. Then I talked with the priest who heard his confession. Not bad. Not great. Like the rest of us but still. Can he play 2 guard?

I don't think it's a privacy violation for an institution to verify someone is enrolled and disclose how far advanced toward a degree they are. It is creepy to ask about, though.

Yeah, it's all hogwash. No legit admissions employee would even confirm that [insert name here] is a metriculating student, let alone "scheduled graduation date". Try it. Call whatever college your kid goes to and ask them when your kid is going to graduate. Good luck.

@mod10eagle: How about meeting down by the reservoir? The way that Suntrup was handled was not a "piece of art". You can bring "Ry", "mod34bb". "Erik", and "CT" with you. You all "blow" hot air. I would like to see Suntrup go somewhere and "stick it" to Addazio. Addazio wore out Williams. Willis cannot hold a candle to him. Sure Spaz stunk. However, it was poor practice to take it out on Suntrup. So far, Addazio is all "smoke and mirrors". He should have played other qbs instead of running Rettig into the ground. Temple was not happy with him because of his run only offense which he will continue with Murphy. He needs to open up the offense or he will be looking for work again.

JBQ, Just to make it clear, you were thinking about Suntrup's status and called the admissions department? Don't you have anything better to do?
