In a midweek battle, the Hockey team held off Merrimack 2-1.
Stephen Gionta is sidelined with an injury, but is still getting attention from his hometown paper.

If the kicker isn't worth a scholarship is he really a solution? Or just more of the same. No half measures, please!
Steve Aponovicious didn't come to BC on a scholarship.
My point exactly. All he was, was better than Ohliger. We couldn't try kicks outside 35 yards. That's not a D1 kicker to me.
Re: Aponavicius
"Joined the team as a walk-on and is the all-time scoring leader in Boston College history with 290 points...ranks first all-time in field goal percentage (.734) and extra points made (149) and is second in field goals (47)."
Selected FG over 35 yards:
2009:
42 yards vs. Maryland
37 yards vs. NC State
2008:
36 yards vs. Georgia Tech
2007:
37 yards in ACC Champ Game
40 yards vs. Clemson
45 yards vs. Bowling Green
2006:
36 yards vs. Virginia Tech in the first organized football game of his life
37 yards as time expired to win bowl game

I don't understand it. Why can BC not recruit a top level kicker? Wouldn't a high school kid in that position jump at guarantee to start right away?
Ryan Day leaving to be QB Coach for Philly Eagles.
*a guarantee. Sorry about that.
