Palm thinks we are going Bowling

CBS' Bowl guru Jerry Palm released his first bowl projections. Most people will focus on his playoff predictions. I am more focused on BC's chances. Palm sees BC making the Cactus Bowl as a replacement for the Pac 12 and facing Texas. If that is truly where BC ends up, sign me up now. The Cactus Bowl is a fairly desirable location (Phoenix) on a fairly good day (January 2). Facing a rebuilding Texas might not set the world on fire, but it would still be Texas, a legitimate college football power.

There will be plenty of bowl projections this year. I really don't care where BC goes, I just want them to go somewhere. Plus going bowling with two FCS teams on the schedule means BC wins at least seven games. (Unless we only win six and get in on a waiver.)

The reported starters for the o-line are Williams, Bowen, Baker, Taylor and Hendren. A fifth year senior, a senior, a junior, a sophomore and a red shirt freshman. The optimum design for a line would be constructed to lose only one or two starters every year. Ideally the backups get to play a few snaps. One always has a veteran line returning. At the safety position a similar formula seems to be employed. Simmons is a senior. Johnson the other starter is a junior. Lezzer a sophomore and Seward a freshman. Returning a veteran core of d-backs provides stability. 2. If one is subjected to ESPN's preseason CFB programs he would think that the last two years of games hadn't taken place. The nerds in Bristol produce the relentless propaganda about how strong the SEC is. The shills on tv repeat the nonsense. The SEC was 3-5 vs the ACC last year. But that is proof that they are superior? The top five teams from the SEC West were 0-5 in their bowl games. But the fans are supposed to ignore that. The ACC Atlantic had more players drafted by the NFL last than the SEC West. All the pundits told us how powerful the SEC West was. The first CFP poll had three SEC West teams ranked in the top four all three were smoked in their bowl games. 3.Where are the top college defensive players coming from? Watt from Wisconsin has been NFL defensive player of the year in two of the last three seasons. Keuchley from BC and Ohio won it the other year. The top defensive player in college this year is Bosa of OSU. His mother is from Ohio, his father New Hampshire. Are those states part of the SEC? The SEC true believers can't accept the truth. The conference has no clothes. It's no better than the other conferences. In academia you can still find a few crackpots who believe in Marxism and Leninism. Some will never learn.

You do realize that there is an SEC East right? And that the only major conference that had a better bowl record than the SEC last year was the Pac 12?

As they say follow the money. The SEC will always be hyped because that is where the fan interest is greatest. Everything you say is accurate, but it doesn't matter. Till the ACC can generate more $ we will always be the little brother to the SEC. Same story w/ the Fighting Frauds.

Ned loves the Wake Forest, UVA, NCSU, UNC, Duke gauntlet. Tough stuff.

The ACC has two and a half teams. I consider Ga Tech a hit or miss.

You know what the ACC seems to win titles in?

Academic fraud.

Ironic, no?

Win seven titles in a row. Then complain.

Btw, citing Watt as proof of a conference's strength is Trumpian. Guess whatever conference Randy Moss was in means it too was the best.

I actually like this poster. Reminds me of JBQ. Good laugh.
