BC added to Jerry York's ever growing list of milestones by beating BU 5-3 Friday night. The win was York's 999th.
The star of the game was Ian McCoshen. He gave BC their go-ahead goal at 4-3 and added an empty netter a minute later. Thatcher Demko was healthy and back in Goal for the Eagles.
The teams return to the ice down the street Saturday. BU seems like a good place to get win 1000.

Coach York is one of the finest coaches in any sport and an even better person. A true credit to BC.
It was a really a terrific game with all the intensity you'd expect from this rivalry -- two extremely well-coached teams stocked with very skilled players, heavily seasoned with mutual animosity. Snooks Kelley Rink was buzzing, as it should be. As usual, the BU fans were vocal and well-organized while the BC fans were somewhat subdued, in part due to the fact that students are not back from Christmas break yet. Those that were there got louder as the game went on and were rewarded with at least 50 minutes of as-good-as-it-gets hockey. (Both teams seemed to lose interest for about 10 minutes of the first period.)
It was a relief to see Demko back in the net, although I thought he looked a little rusty -- just a tad slow, but he made all the saves he needed to. BU's third goal was a goofy one; Demko made the initial save but the puck bounced up and over his head, off his back into the net. Eh.
It would be very special for York to get his 1,000th win at the rink that Jack Parker built tonight. Obviously, we're heading into trophy season with the Beanpot only a couple of weeks away; it's time for the Eagles to put it all together. Victory tonight will take an even better effort than the Eagles put out last night, though, as the Terriers will be on fire. BC has to avoid taking the bait, stay out of the penalty box, and use their superior speed through the neutral zone, as they did last night. Can't wait
"Alvin and the chipmunks" are now at 999. That would be Alvin York who took America on his back in WWI. Meanwhile, football and basketball are mired in quick sand. Congratulations are in order for both Sgt. Yorks.
Is there any way to stream tonight's game?
this basketball team is pathetic. 3-straight 20+ point losses. outscored by a total of 90 points in 4 games so far in the ACC. another winless ACC season. just a disaster all around. if this continues i don't know if you even give Christian the benefit of the doubt. i know these are kids are young but this is worse than Donahue. Donahue went 4-12 with his mega freshman class. if Christian can't even win a game i think i've seen enough.
that said, if Bates is the guy making the next coaching hire i guess i'll just wait it out. we need a new AD above all else.
I agree with El Miz. Love Coach York. The rest of the athletic department needs a big time overall. Bates should not be allowed to make another major head coach decision
In York we trust. The rest of them... not so much right now. I think a major shake-up is in order, starting at the top of the athletic department. I just hope some wealthy alums are screaming in Leahy's ear about now.
