I think the defense has just plain given up. Also, is it just me or does it appear our defensive backs never look back to the ball? It seems fundamental to me but perhaps there is a reason they are not looking back.

That roughing call cost BC seven points.
A pass goes right through the hands of Jeff Smith. Then, we rough the kicker. Both were good ideas and well executed but poor coaching. Smith has "hands of stone". In practice, you throw to him in practice until his hands are raw. Roughing the kicker, you are taught to aim for a point in front of the kicker's foot. It's the small things that are killing the Dazzler. Coughlin would coach the small things.
The timing is all screwed up on the plays Smith has come in motion in front of the QB. Poor coaching & execution
BC will never be formidable with Daz. Period.

I think Addazio should stick with Towles in the second half. The coach knows what he's doing and we should cut him some slack.

Men's basketball loses to Nicholls State - Nicholls was predicted to finish last in the Southland Conference. Women's basketball lost their opener to Hartford. Good sign as to how ACC ready we will be.

What the hell is a Nicholls St anyways? The game wasn't even as close as the score indicated. Nicholls had a double digit lead through most of the game and was even up 18 in the first half.

That sounds like an excuse, but they really are getting away with pretty obvious holds on most plays. Maybe the refs think they are doing us a favor by keeping the clock moving.
Ironic, since we beat NC State. But its noteworthy that a writer for the Charlotte Observer has penned a piece saying that BC is not pulling its weight in the ACC. Hopefully, the powers that be take note
what's amazing is we were actively TRYING to lose games we literally could not be doing any worse. basketball and football both disasters. we gave Christian a one-year extension last year after he went 0-18, and with this crew i don't see more than 1-2 ACC wins, if that. unbelievable!!!!!! #DRAINTHEHEIGHTS

Mod, do you think Bates will fire Addazio? It sounds like they will not renew Bates' contract but his contract does not run out until the end of the academic year. I highly doubt he will fire Addazio as he is walking out. Further, if BC beats Wake and UCONN, they are going bowling. I doubt BC will fire a 6-6 coach.
He should be fired. I just doubt it will happen.
This is a systemic, multi-year (perhaps decade) issue for BC. When Addazio is fired, we will struggle massively to find anyone that wants to take on this challenge.

4 "elites" (FSU, CLem, Lville, VT)
4 middle-schmidles ACC teams (NCSU, SYr, Wake, GT)
4 Cupcakes. (wager Buff, UMass and UConn)
elites you go 0-4 and then win 80% of the Schlubs and cupcakes... 6-6.. is all Dz wants.. and that sucks!!

What a capstone to the Bates era. Today sums it all up perfectly. Can't believe BC sent mea request for money yesterday. Pound sand.
Must clean house... clearly we have recruited AA talent... even when we had AA talent before, they were coached up. These guys are coached down and would struggle to compete in the IVY League.
