Paperwork shouldn't be such a big deal, but the City of Boston signing off on the Indoor Practice Facility is big news. There will be plenty of bumps ahead, but this really means that BC can break ground this year and show recruits some progress.
The Heights confirmed that BC is using Parker Executive Search to run its AD process. This is normal to the process at most school's. Parker will do a lot of the vetting for BC. I am glad a search firm was hired and relieved it wasn't Gene's or Bates'. Parker has conflicts, but nothing really related to BC.
Here is more on BC's Pro Day from CBS Sports. Going on the reporter's comments, the Colts have interest in Towles and the Ravens have interest in Johnson.

Nice pick Leo. Thanks.
UVA has two players transferring. The less heralded is a 6-7 sophomore from MA who went to Brewster in NH. Would be a good pickup for JC.
The Colts clearly have a terrible scouting department if they're interested in Towles. What drove me crazy all year about Towles is that he wouldn't step up in the pocket; Towles would role out and then get sacked by the Defensive End. If anything, maybe the Colts think he has potential at tight end because he has little pro potential at Quarterback.
I agree that Jared Reuter, the 6-7 soph from Mass, would look good in the maroon and gold....however, transfer rules are that it is a two year sit out period to transfer within your conference....therefore, it is not going to happen for him to BC
On another site it mentions that the baseball complex has broken ground. Does anyone know that for sure? Its such a poor baseball facility for an ACC Baseball team with little covered amenities, too small and no locker rooms, among other things. Obviously BC Admin knows its so poor because they blew the opportunity for any fanfare for a ground breaking and the extra PR that comes with it, if true? Awful.
Agreed on Towles at TE. More potential there than QB in the NFL
@Chris,@marcos: Let's look at the reason for the pro day. It is looking for potential. Towles has it in spades. He was not coached at BC. The Colts feel that he may be a diamond in the rough like Kurt Warner. The first half of the bowl game showed just what he can do. Then, Clem Kaddlehopper put the clamps back on. I say that you don't know what you are talking about and wish him well.
JBQ, Towles' QBr and pass completion percentage at BC is essentially the same as his Kentucky stats....
so it is what it is. he is what he is. Jim Bunting's baseball play means nothing to NFL teams.
Great if he can make a an NFL team, but if he does make a squad, he should make sure he does not hit the head coach in the head with a wildly inaccurate pass. Ha!
i think the baseball field would be better used as a parking lot and the baseball team reduced to club level with no University funding. Play for fun. Not the glory of BC.
no one gives a shinola about baseball.
The search agency has impressive credentials. Swarbrick and Kelly being two of their clients looks good. Leo Sullivan is the one who is documented as selecting Brad Bates. BB is a very smooth operator. It turns out that Sullivan was dazzled by the personality of Mr. Bates which is impressive. From a visit to campus in 2015 after being invited in writing by Mr. Bates, I quickly found out that he was constantly out "playing golf" and that the "nuts and bolts" was being done by Jill Hegarty whose husband John runs the hockey program. Mrs. Hegarty carried the athletic department on her back after experience as Director of Football Operations. The search agency takes this out of the personality and underhanded political machination stage. After watching Addazio and Christian flounder, you have to wonder just what expertise that Mr. Bates really had beyond his dazzling personality. Without a doubt, the results are based on the "think method" of Professor Harold Hill of "The Music Man". Evidently, he dazzled Father Leahy as well. When interviews are done, there needs to be a woman involved who can see through all of the BS. It is a matter of producing. Swarbrick is an attorney.
@mod34b: I just say that Towles deserves a chance. He has all of the tools. He was not coached at BC. Of course, "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride". As you allude, his talent progression level at Kentucky may be his high water mark. I say that he ends up as a backup. At 6 ft 5 and 250, he can take a beating. Doesn't mean that he has the talent. Next Fall, he may be selling cars. What was his graduate major?
The BC football program is a joke and the NFL knows that also.
JBQ, there you go again with the "we need a woman at the helm" mentality . How about just arguing for the best qualified person for the job.?
Tony. You are so interesting. Ha!!!
@Georgia Eagle: I believe that you have me in a vise on that one. Let's get the most qualified person.
If Towles can be coached into making short yardage passes consistently - maybe. He had a terrible touch in short yardage with or without pressure. Granted - he did not have the best receiving corps but quite often he missed his target in key situations.
Why is BC building a baseball stadium (and apparently a half-ass one, at that) before a dedicated practice facility for the basketball team?
While our friends at BCI might disagree, wouldn't logic dictate that funds should be allocated to the sports which: a) have the largest followings, b) generate the most revenue, c) have the greatest chance to succeed in conference (yes, I know we play in the ACC but there's no reason why we can't be a Providence or Villanova)
If I hear JBQ's story about visiting the AD's office one more time, I might want Christian Suntrup starting next yr.
Thank you, JBQ. We all have our schools best interest at heart, and that's to get our sports teams out of the dark ages. The humiliation must end.
