As I keep reading others write about this year's BC team, I see everything from "break out" and "sleeper" to potential five win letdowns. The sites that share their prediction models seem to put BC's win total right around six again. But this tweet reminded me how even the best experts couldn't get a good feel on BC last year. Doing so well against the spread (8-1-1) is almost a backhanded compliment. The sports books don't care about Addazio or BC, they just want to be right and close to the line. Yet they couldn't get a good feel for BC -- before or after the offensive explosion.
Assuming BC stays healthy this year, I think we will be a little more predictable for the oddsmakers. Personally I would gladly trade doing well against the spread for actual Ws instead.

BC against the spread is always brutal. We always(last 25 years) play up or down.
One of the most strange lines I have ever seen was the Louisville game last season. line shifted 5 points and over went up 3-4 60 minutes before the game. Then we go out and destroy those grass fed clowns.
Bang the over on the 6 win total with everything you own.
The prediction is 5.5 wins. This should be a breakout year. If this is another 7-6 including the bowl game, then Jarmond has to step in. This is also year six of the 5 + 3 scenario at 2.5 mill per.---John Fish, former chair of the Trustees, was just honored with the naming of a building. He was CEO and probably still is the CEO of Suffolk Construction which is in the top 200 of Forbes. I just don't get it. How could he on God's green Earth approve the extension? If he ran his company the way that BC ran its athletic department under "Floppo" and his successor, the company would have gone belly up.---It was nice to bring in Jarmond. However, his background was in handling the scheduling at Ohio State. His expertise was his wife being a successful dentist in Columbus. Social justice is one thing. Expertise is another.
What has Jarmond accomplished so far ? Was the bar set to low to placate the white guilt of this administration?
????????????????
There were a lot more qualified ads out there. If daz and Christian flop again, Jarmond needs to show some balls and fire their asses
Jarmond has been great in both fundraising and getting BC back into the national conversation. I’m sure most on here wouldn’t credit him for revitalizing interest in Football and Basketball, but the proof is in the pudding. I do think there is some correlation there. He is an excellent advocate for this university, and liked by everyone who interacts with him
How the hell has he revitalized interest in football and basketball? What a baseless and inane comment.
Name an AD who has a public presence. Not one you think has a presence. They typically sit in luxury boxes or in floor seats surrounded by security. They are usually low profile because their jobs are shady as shit.
At least Jarmond was walking around campus pre football games last season getting a lay of the land.
Presence. Stupid bullshit.
His success will be measured in men's basketball. When he fires Christian and who he replaces him with.
Addazio can only be fired by Leahy, is my perception. Jarmond will have a say in the replacement but it is outside of his perview to decide whether dazzler goes or stays.
Knucklehead, if that's true, Jarmond is no more than a feeble figurehead.
He had a role in the increased interest among students for sure. Just look at the attendance numbers and his attempts to lure students with deals on pizza and other concessions. He’s creative and at the very least he’s TRYING. Something that couldn’t be said for his predecessors. Rome wasn’t built in a day. I can’t find even one legitimate reason to criticize him so far in his tenure
Maybe we should wait and see
Winning programs lure students with winning football, not pizza. And what about the alumni? Where are they? And why isn't Jarmond the wonder AD doing something, anything, to get locals from Boston and Mass to attend exciting college football? Your argument is weak, nyc.
It doesn't like pizza either. Typical.
Georgia you act like he’s been there for years. He’s been there for 1 year. Give the man some time to do his job.
