All Conference players and other links

Harris, Castonzo and Kuechly all earned all ACC honors. All were very deserving. Thomas Claiborne made the honorable mention team. My biggest gripe is that the voters ignored Donnie Fletcher. He should have at least made honorable mention. A healthy Albright would probably have made the team. I also think that if Spinney had been at Center all year, he might have gained more attention.

The Miami shake up is having an impact on BC's recruiting. Albert Louis-Jean, a Massachusetts native and one of Miami's top recruits, is keeping options open until the Canes get a new coach. He has visited BC and is still considering the Eagles.

BC still has interest in PA lineman J.J. Denman.

Jags is an early candidate for the Indiana opening. I won't get into my take on the Jags situation but BC guy Kevin Armstrong wrote a great feature on Jags this weekend.

More honors and other links

Congratulations are in order for Anthony Castonzo and Luke Kuechly, as both were named first team All ACC. Boston College, North Carolina and Miami were the only schools with multiple first-team selections. Montel Harris and Matt Tennant are part of the second team. Honorable mention and freshman will be out later this week.

The ACC also named Kuechly the defensive back of the week for his play against Maryland.

HD placed BC 6th in her weekly power rankings.

Multiple sources are leaking this and I put it up on Twitter, but BC is going to the Emerald Bowl. Nothing has been officially announced yet since there are some contingencies for other bowls based on the results of the ACC Championship Game. However, we are not part of those contingencies and will be in the Bay Area the day after Christmas.

Congrats to all those honored. Special congrats to the no longer overlooked Clif Ramsey. His play was so consistent and excellent all year and compares very favorably to the recent seasons Chris Snee and Josh Beekman had as BC guards. I was a bit surprised that Purvis made second team. I thought the decline in productivity would hurt, but it shows that his blocking and overall contribution was still noticed. Now let's hope this fires up the guys to win the ACC award that means the most.
