Memorial Day

Today is a good reminder that BC has a permanent tribute to alumni who have died defending this country. You can read more about the Boston College Veterans Memorial here. Thank you to all of those men and women who have worn the uniform and defended our freedoms.

The ACC gets 8 teams into the CWS field of 64, and our Eagles aren't one of them. UNC got the last bid from ACC.

I guess strength of schedule and RPI don't count for much when the NCAA has to choose between an un-storied BC squad and a traditional power tarheels

Good job this year boys, you deserve to be there

Atl - thanks for your post about the BC Veterans Memorial. It reminded me to post the following about my classmate and very good friend and basketball nut-case - Cpt. Robert D. Hauer of Brookline, MA - "Bob was originally listed as MIA on 05 Sept 70, but in reality he was KIA that day - a little over two years after graduation. Bob was piloting a forward observer aircraft when he was shot down and his plane was seen plummeting into triple canopy jungle, no parchute observed or beeper detected....... Bobby was a great guy and we had a lot of enjoyable days at BC talking about our futures after military service. I still miss him and was very proud that he chose to become a flyer for his country.
