Not caring about the latest conference speculation and other links

Heights and Lows found bro'd out Eagle hat a few weeks ago. It's Friday. It's graduation weekend. It's time to celebrate, so I figured it was time to bust out the bro hat.

The Big XII and SEC announced a bowl game and generated another round of the ACC's sky is falling/Florida State is leaving event hand handwringing. As I tweeted, I am not worried. The playoffs will expand and will include other teams. There is just too much money left on the table for it not to happen.

Spaz had good things to say to HD. She also thinks Rettig will adapt well to the new system.

Steve Flynn -- an invited football walkon from Central Massachusetts -- is having a strong baseball season.

It's very fratty, and our worst logo... but that hat made me laugh, not going to lie. Nice to laugh at something other than another Gene/Spaz misstep.

From nanother blog re: baseball:

This year marks the fifth time in seven seasons that BC has failed to qualify for the ACC Baseball Championship. In 2009 and 2010, the Eagles finished as the #8 seed.

2006: No Tournament
2007: No Tournament
2008: No Tournament
2009: #8 Seed, Finished pool play 2-1 but lost head-to-head tiebreaker with Florida State
2010: #8 Seed, Finished pool play 1-2
2011: No Tournament
2012: No Tournament

The Eagles finish the year with a record of 22-33 overall, 10-20 in the ACC.

OK BC - either get our act together, or drop baseball and a corresponding women's sport.

This is an embarrassment to our school. We stink in the ACC, and we can't beat the local OOC teams.

Wake up, GDF - you have managed us to close to last place in most sports. Do you back your way into the pay window?

Drop baseball and cancel that ridiculous baseball stadium BC wants on Brighton campus.

Reinvest that money in improving football/basketball. You know, the sports that actually make BC money and provide national relevance. BC should not be building stadiums for non-revenue sports (baseball).

Cal dropped baseball. We can too.
